Two questions re: Fox's Europa League coverage: Will there be any chance of latter round games appearing on FX or FOX (like the Champions League) if there's a big, high-profile club involved? How many games will appear on Fox Soccer 2 Go each match week? The Champions League never has more than 8 matches on a calendar day, while the Europa League can have 24. I'm not fully sure (but sincerely doubt) if they can carry that many matches at a time due to bandwidth concerns.
There are only 12 matches per each kickoff time initially (19:00 and 21:05), so with matches on fsc and fsc+, that would leave 10 matches per each time slot for online. I think that is doable. If I remember correctly, the stipulations are same as for CL which means either FX or regional sports network.
FoxSoccer2Go has said that they will have every match available live or on demand of the Europa League from the Group Stages to the Final.
Unfortunately no Fox sublicensed to Espn Deportes, DirecTV already removed some of the uefa channels all thats left in uefa channels on DirecTV is the champions league.
FoxSoccer2Go has listed their schedule for the first round of Europa League group stages, and it's a little underwhelming if you're a fan of the Bundesliga. 1:00 pm Eastern Udinese - Anzhi Makhachkala Fenerbahce - Marseille (SDD at 5:00 pm on FSC) Young Boys - Liverpool (Live on FSC) Maritimo - Newcastle (Live on FS+) Napoli - AIK Hapoel Tel-Aviv - Atletico Madrid 3:05 pm Eastern Twente - Hannover 96 Tottenham - Lazio (Live on FSC) Internazionale - Rubin Kazan (Live on FS+) Athletic Bilbao - Kiryat Shmona Maribor - Panathinaikos Lyon - Sparta Prague (SDD at 5:00 pm on FS+) Games left out from this round 1:00 pm Eastern Viktoria Plzen/Academica AEL Limassol/Borussia Monchengladbach Bordeaux/Club Brugge Stuttgart/Steaua Bucuersti Copenhagen/Molde Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk/PSV Eindhoven 3:00 pm Eastern Genk/Videton Sporting CP/Basel Partizan/Neftchi Baku Rapid Wien/Rosenborg Bayer Leverkusen/Metalist Kharkiv Levante/Helsingborg I'm not sure why this many games were left out, but FoxSoccer2Go has the ability to show 8 games at the same time in one time slot, as evidenced by their Champions League coverage. I wonder if the source they are taking it from is only showing 6 matches in each time slot. In terms of the top 6 coefficients, Germany, Spain, France, and Portugal are not fully represented on the online schedule, while England and Italy are.
What a shame. They should have sublicensed to DirecTV it would have been much better for us soccer fans instead of missing so many games its ridiculous to loose that many games.
I just dont get fox. It should be showing 4-5 matches on fsc and 4-5 matches on fs+. Why do they limit what they show? BeIn seems to be just pumping out as many matches as possible. You own the rights, show the stuff!!!
Yeah, this is a huge step backwards. It seems like football coverage in the US is always 1 step forward and 1 step back. BeIN has increased Serie A and Ligue 1 coverage, plus CONCACAF and CONMEBOL qualifiers but then Fox goes and does this. I expect that Fox will be busy re-airing CL games featuring EPL and La Liga sides on Thursday so they don't have the space to show more EL games. Of course, that will likely be the 3rd time Man Utd, Arsenal, Barca, and Real are shown in 2-3 days. Anyway, this sucks. We'll see if DirecTV is thrown a bone and can run with other matches, especially because FS+ SD looks horrible.
Folks, according to a report DirecTV added more Uefa channels and I checked the guide so I can say that they did. Perhaps they still show Europa League it says Champions League & Europa League on channel description.
Here's a head-scratcher for you: ESPN Deportes games are the SAME games being shown by FOX in one format or another. Using KensingtonSC's foxsoccer2go.com list from above, here is where we stand: 1:00 pm Eastern Udinese - Anzhi Makhachkala (Friday at 11:00 am on FS+) Fenerbahce - Marseille (SDD at 5:00 pm on FSC) Young Boys - Liverpool (Live on FSC) (Friday at 11am on ESPND) Maritimo - Newcastle (Live on FS+) Napoli - AIK (Friday at 1:00 pm on FS+) Hapoel Tel-Aviv - Atletico Madrid (Live on ESPND) 3:05 pm Eastern Twente - Hannover 96 Tottenham - Lazio (Live on FSC) Internazionale - Rubin Kazan (Live on ESPND & FS+) Athletic Bilbao - Kiryat Shmona (Friday at 1pm on ESPND & 5pm on FSC+) Maribor - Panathinaikos Lyon - Sparta Prague (SDD at 5:00 pm on FS+) Games left out from this round 1:00 pm Eastern Viktoria Plzen/Academica AEL Limassol/Borussia Monchengladbach Bordeaux/Club Brugge Stuttgart/Steaua Bucuersti Copenhagen/Molde Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk/PSV Eindhoven 3:00 pm Eastern Genk/Videton Sporting CP/Basel Partizan/Neftchi Baku Rapid Wien/Rosenborg Bayer Leverkusen/Metalist Kharkiv Levante/Helsingborg So none of the game left out have been added with the addition of ESPND's broadcasts. Having those matches on DirecTV would truly offer FULL coverage. Cross your fingers... SA www.soccertvblog.com
I don't know if this means much, but DirecTV's "international soccer" page does indicate that there will be overflow coverage of both the Champions League and Europa League: http://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/content/sports/soccer?footernavtype=-1&lpos=header Again, I don't know if they're referring to last season or not...
Isn't that false advertisement on DirecTV part if they dont have Europa League? 480-489 is dedicated to Uefa I just checked the guide so maybe its true, I hope so.
I'm curious as to the matches they would show on there. Would they be the same matches as are on FoxSoccer2Go, or would they be the games that are not being provided by Fox.
DirecTV will broadcast Europa League matches along with Champions League. Im glad DirecTV picked up these games. Ch. 480-489 in HD also.
As a fan of Portuguese soccer im pulling for Maritimo, Sporting CP, & Academica to advance. Caution to Newcastle it wont be a walk in the park. Sunday's match against Sporting, Maritimo made it very difficult for Sporting even though they had to score in the 87' min to tie Sporting 1-1 on a free kick and what a goal it was. The Barreiros is a difficult place to play and get a win. Also hoping FC Porto advance from their group in the Champions League and also Benfica & Braga to qualify it would boost Portugal in the rankings.
I don't know why its like that for you but I finished watching Zagreb - FC Porto. I also see tomorrows games on the guide & Thursday Europa League matches.
