You can thank Martin Jol for orchestrating that nonsense.

As I type this Wynalda is on FSN reiterating that Deuce never refused to train or play. I hope Clint issues a statement directly to the Fulham fans

I"m afraid this might be all we get (afraid for us fans but probably the right move by Dempsey to say little):

Dempsey had not played for Fulham this season after it became clear he wanted a move, but he added on Tottenham's website: "A lot was said and written ahead of me leaving Fulham. It wasn't how it was portrayed, but that's in the past now and we move on.
"I want to thank the fans for everything, some of the best memories I've had in football, and thank the chairman for giving me the opportunity to come from the MLS and compete over here.
"All I can say is thank you and now I'm looking forward to the next challenge."

Amazing how destiny works! Clint while young played soccer in a adult Mexican league in Nacogdoches,Texas where older men would gamble on games he would participate. He would help win many games which the gamblers later nicknamed "el gallito" (little rooster). Many years later he becomes a true Spur, just Amazing!

That's right, my yiddos. Hopefully we'll get some converts to the cause here on BS. Spurs are a first-class organization, and play exciting football.

There's Europa League, Carling Cup (or whatever it goes by these days), FA Cup... plenty of games to go around.

TBH, I think he would have fit better with the L'pool system. Adapting to the type of football Spurs is likely to play this season will be a challenge. Fulham had one quality that L'pool has but this Tottenham lacks: central fluidity. Deuce benefited from it. Spurs is a faster, grittier team that relies more on the wide attack. Dempsey may be asked to be a central distributor, in which case he will have to think faster than he did with Fulham.

It's hard to put in words, since the experienced football observer sees things and calculates based on experience. My experience tells me this will be a big challenge for CD.

Mark your calendar guys! Because on December 1 Tottenham goes to Craven Cottage to play Fulham, that game is going to be crazy! I'm guessing Fulham fans will boo Dempsey everytime he touches the ball.

According to Seltzer, Arsenal made a call to Fulham about Dempsey at some point this week.

Spurs have only 1 point from their first two Premier League games. They are in a Europa League group with Panathinaikos, Lazio, and Maribor (Slovenia), and will also travel to face Frank Simek and Carlisle United in the League Cup on the 26th.

I really wish the whole truth would come out about the last few weeks of Dempsey at Fulham. It pains me to see his legacy at the club tarnished.

    Front page of Yahoo! Nice.

"Clint Dempseywill become the highest-paid American soccer player in history after sealing a blockbuster transfer to leading English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.
The United States national team forward completed a switch from his previous club Fulham with just minutes left before European soccer's trade deadline expired after agreeing to a contract worth an estimated $22.2 million over three years.""

That was Redknapp's system. I don't see Lennon playing as big a role under AVB. Dembele was brought on to provide just that fluidity in the center on the park.
