^you mean realist. I'm not setting myself up for disappointment again like the last two years. I really hope we do well, but I'm not counting on it.

But deep down I'm praying that beat some respect into our opponents

    Thanks!

WHAT a rollercoaster of a game. First half we started conservatively. Whole game was turned around when Gutierrez and Verhoek were subbed on. Allowed Tadic to switch to the left and Castaignos to move to the striker position. Classic European cup night in the Grolsch Veste, atmosphere was bloody brilliant (players thought so too, Fer even took the microphone to thank us after the final whistle).

Fer was immense. As was Douglas.

You got very unlucky with the draw. UEFA doesn't particularly like Dutch football...

Twente are in pot 1 today but with the luck Dutch clubs have been having we'll probably get a difficult group regardless.

    Transfer deadline day rumours:

    - Twente swap Verhoek for Cabral (can't see that happening)
    - We get Dedryck Boyata from City (likely as City just signed Maicon)
    - We also get Braafheid.

I can, unless Cabral has his mind set on leaving on a free so will turn down about any club like he has Swansea apparently. Twente shops Feyenoorders while PSV does the same with Sparta (albeit mostly for free) and we at Ajax love our Danes. :)

News coming in thick and fast. Twente watchers are saying it's a done deal - Cabral signs 4 year contract with us apparently.

Like I just commented elsewhere, as if they didn't hate us enough in Rotterdam already. I'm predicting no away fans allowed at Feyenoord Twente this season...

Oh and said Twente watchers just interviewed Douglas at training this morning. Again said he's definitely staying (we'll just wait and see till 12 midnight!)

He's only the second Feyenoord player ever to join Twente by the way. We've had more Twente players going their way in the past. It just underscores the financial situation of both clubs.

I think they're quite happy with this one though. Cabral is very much hated by a lot of their fans because of his attitude and they're quite happy to see him go after all considering he has turned down Swansea and incoming money for Feyenoord.

Only had 1 yr left on his contract compared to the 3 of Verhoek so they've probably made the better deal. He's reunited with Immers and is closer to Scheveningen now.

Twente should also be happy because Cabral really needed this move to get away from all the negativity and may come good again.

Twente watchers are talking about possible transfers of David and Bouma? So David is about to sign for Fulham?

Verhoek wasn't good enough for Twente, I'm sorry to say. Not sure about Cabral.

David is about to extend his contract with Twente. I have that on very good authority. Bouma I don't know.

I think you're wrong.. Fardau is usually well informed about everything Twente.

    Just saw it too!

I wish him lots of joy in the Fulham reserves. At least he's got a fat bank account to stare at at night.

Hahahaa yes it's on! Brilliant isn't it, huge groups of away fans at both games in any case! I'm extremely relieved that we don't have to travel to Russia and beyond again.

    Full group:
    Twente
    Hannover
    Levante
    Helsinborg

I never thought I'd ever say this but I think we're more attractive for a young player than Celtic are.

  21. Foreign youngsters are getting that they are better of in the "Eredivisie" than with some big time club in the EPL. AZ just signed a Norwegian talent that was chased after by the EPL biggies. Feyenoord signed Singh who had the same options etc. Now waiting for the Dutch younsters to get it too!!

Yeah, and for those who can make it even a summer vacation in fall (if the game days are set right). Since I did not have one this summer I may actually do that. How many visitors are allowed in your stadium, are games sold in bundles, do you usually sell out for EL-nights, do you need a Dutch passport for home tickets, what is the general attitude towards non-Schalke Germans?

(Just as a reminder, we travelled with 10 000 fans to Copenhagen, Twente is half the distance)

Not sure the group game packages will sell out over here, usually you'd get (5% of 45 000=2 250 tickets, I can see more tickets being available anyways after season card holders and club members buy tickets, packages cost up to 130€ for all three games).

We've got an expandable away section. I think Schalke were here with around 1,200 people, that's probably what you can count on. We've never had any trouble with any German fans! You'll be allowed to freely go into town beforehand, police will probably consider it low risk. By the way, it's easy to travel by train. There's a direct international train from Hannover to Hengelo and from there it's just five minutes to the Twente stadium (we have our own train station) and another five to Enschede city centre.

You need a personal club card to buy tickets for Twente home games, and to get a club card you need a Dutch address. So I'm afraid you'll just have to enter your name into the Hannover draw!

Possbily yes. I think that all depends on what kind of player were on about. Whether its a player who needs development or a player who wants to stop in england. if its the later, then he will be better off at Celtic.
