1. salary 2. league/trophy prestige 3. TV distro 4. personal player affections 5. champions league 6 or w/e. what a club did in the 1970s if I were a pragmatic realballitik manager like Mu, all else being equal (which it wasn't: money/relationship issues very much favored the decision to send him to Liverpool plus he's coming off injuries and all of our players are injured all of the time and we were desperately trying to sell every part of our collective body that was above water) I'd prefer that he went to a club that tries harder to win than Arsenal does without all of the philosophical hedges and has more experienced guys who have picked up trophies with their own work/luck heck Cesc was our best player for a while went home missed a few sitters and Barca won their only trophy against a UEFA Cup team that Udine game was rruf that offside call against Di Natale late on seemed bad, important for Braga anyway it's good to see a positive, intelligent team advance. they have a lot of weapons that penalty kick by the Braz with the weird name is incredibly stupid. it works better for Pirlo/Ronaldinho etc not only because they sell it but because if you don't dive when such a player goes to shoot you're probably not going to be able to react given the power and accuracy. against a player who has shown nothing but clumsiness since he came on there is a high probability of either a safe and soft one halfway between the center and one of the posts or of his missing altogether so it makes sense to wait for a late decision, particularly when he betrays with a jittery step any pretense of rhythm for a strong drive. is it even that cool if you do score one like that? everyone already knows that the goalie's job is way harder. weird
yeah you can tell they're not worth coaching because the way they just won the Euro wasn't that thorough and the way they beat the second best team in the world in the game at home was only marginally more convincing than the way they just equalized with a goal by the world's best ever player while they were down a man
truly deserved.. what a badass footballer andres iniesta is... it's taken me some time to come round on him, but... wow.
Just watched this, seeing Song come on while Cesc was sat on the bench was something. Cesc didn't look too happy, I can see why people are speculating about his future with the club. Song was decent...looked like the same player we saw nearly every game last season. When he got pushed back to CB while Pique moved forward was probably a sign of things to come...most of his PT will come as a CB unless they have injuries in midfield. It's getting to the point where I think Barca just buy our players to keep down.
