Apparently he very recently told McClaren that he would actually like to stay. So the answer is: no-one knows.

Nice penalty by Fer. Loved his confidence....

I see both Castaignos and Bulykin started. Did Twente play a two striker system or did Castaignos play on the wing?

Lots of conflicting media reports about Douglas. He himself has allegedly said he doesn't want to go to Fulham, even though several media report that he's pretty much signed for them. Newcastle are still interested. Meanwhile we've agreed personal terms with 21-year old Belgian defender Dedryck Boyata (Man City).

He was captain too in Brama's absence.

Our chairman has given Douglas a deadline. He has to decide what he wants to do by Tuesday night at the latest. So we'll know tomorrow...

Well, what is the plan to turn around the result in the 2nd leg of the playoff qualifier?

Brazilian defender Douglas will not be heading to Fulham and is happy to stay at Netherlands club Twente, his agents have said.

I am not sure about the source.

Probably the same line-up as vs NEC away. In other words a highly attacking plan.

That's what his agent has said. But we're still waiting and seeing because Newcastle are still interested.

The bad news about Bjelland is that he's got a stress fracture in his foot and will be out for months. The good news about Chadli is that he's recovering quicker than expected and is due back straight after the qualifiers.

Here's hoping for a good result tonight but to be honest I'm not exactly confident..

Stress fractures are really nasty! Hope this one heals fast and good luck to Twente tonight.

I had stress fractures in both legs in college. They hurt.

  19. Stress fractures only happen to people that donot walk barefoot when they are young...so save money and donot buy shoes for your kids. Saves them a lot of trouble when they go and play football.

    ????????????????????
I wore shoes the whole time growing up and never had a stress fracture. I played all the American sports in school and competitive volleyball until I was 33 years old.

If only. I used to run around barefoot all the time growing up. The problem for me is that I'm slightly bowlegged and have flat feet. Once I got custom orthotics I was fine.

I got orthotics four years ago and they helped a lot. The weird thing is that when I started doing Yoga last year a lot of my arch pain went away and my feet feel better than ever even after I've walked 5-6 miles (quit running 20 years ago to save wear and tear on the knees).

  24. Research has shown that people that grew up not wearing shoes had tougher and stronger foot bones than people that did wear shoes. It didnot matter if you used your feet alot while wearing shoes. Inuit people, for instance (also from old people that were accustomed to a tough life with alot of foot miles) didnot have stronger foot bones than westerners that didnot walk that much and wore shoes.

congrats to Twente for making it to the EL group stage. The the Eredivisie proud and get us some coefficient points (cause it's unlikely that they'll come from Ajax!)
