Club size is a major factor in attracting players. Liverpool got Sahin, and they won't challenge for much this season. It's their name and tradition that won out in the end.
maybe the worst 1 v 1 i have ever seen. nothing like taking a face plant when you are clean in on goal.. udinese deserve to lose this in extra time... what a comical group that is. (only team not to win in my 8 team parlay).. bastards.
They were willing to pay 11m including wages to have Sahin play for them for a year and leave with no recourse. If we were ready to match that offer, Sahin would have already made his first appearance for the club.
gordon strachan is taking the piss out of him something serious. sigh, we need strachan on tv more. he's a funny man.
the penalty effort by umm... some spare from botofoga... it was just as bad. lost the match for Udinese..
There were so many factors that came into play. Some rumors say Mourinho was helping out his old friend Rodgers, Some rumors say Xabi Alonso had recommended Liverpool, Madrid had wanted Sahin to go to Pool so that Alex Song wouldnt go to Barca (Sahin wouldn't replace Song henceforth). Liverpool were also happier with a loan deal and paying him more salary hence they got their man. I don't believe tradition and how big a club has anything to do, when other less traditional and prestigeous teams may be struggling to keep up to their name while new ones on the rise with less tradition look like a better train to catch.
Afobe scored a nice goal tonight in the league cup. He ran onto a Petrov pass and cooly rounded the keeper to tap into an empty net.
True, but I always think unless Spurs get a serious out and out striker, they cannot rely on Ade alone. Highest they'll finish is 7th behind the Manchester clubs, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool/Everton and newcastle
I was really impressed with Wanyama tonight for Celtic. He made some excellent and tough tackles and was covering runners all night. Got a goal off a corner for his efforts too.
LOL Barca down already 1-0 to Real! Also Fab has not started. I wonder if he will regret his decision about going back.. He really has been performing well at all. Last season was way below standard, but then again his last season with us wasn't that stellar either.
Valdes with another laugher. Terrible keeper shielded by a great team around him, IMO. Also an insane touch by Ronaldo on that flick though.
