Hopefully we see a Kashiwa U-18 vs Kashiwa Reysol match. I was disappointed when Tokyo Verdy Youth were knocked out a round before playing FC Tokyo two years ago.
Here I made this with log of all the teams except for the two who changed their name and I presume logo. If anyone has it or notice some mistake do tell otherwise here it is
I'll quote myself for this Funny thing is Omiya Ardija this year plays against the winner of match 8 and in that match is also Heisei University, what is even more funny is that they just barely missed Fukuoka University as they play in match 9 And to add the "drama" if Fukuoka University wins the first round, they are playing against "drums...." Avispa Fukuoka
Its drawn on purpose so that those lower teams, universities and HS teams dont need to travel a lot ... there is no "missed the opponent", so also absolutely no surprise university from one city to play professional team from same city/region next round, its standard procedure in Emperors cup
Because there is always 1 or 2 exception sry forgot to mention mostly u will have local matches which is what they want
I see well in a way it is fair and than again not so. But it does make for better audience and more exciting games. P.S. I checked some betting odds of the past Emperor's Cup tournaments, odds look nice but would expect them higher for example 2009 Emperor's Cup 3rd round Gamba Osaka - Fukuoka University 13.5 odds Would expect to see it higher

Great work with this thread guys, I don't know so much about the smaller clubs , would be nice to see a few go far this year.
look at what I found Uni of Hachinohe match (Hachinohe has a representative in this years Emperor's cup but it is Vanraure Hachinohe ( basically a regional team from 5th league) too bad looks like the game finished 1:1 after regular time and they only lost after PK and finals of Okinawa qualifying so basically Ryukyu FC vs Kaiho Bank SC

Must say, that I am a bit disappointed after the first day and 4 Universities through I was hoping for some more today, at least 2. But not a single one made it. The difference to the last year is thereforthat last year 4 Unis and 1 HighSchool made it, this year only 4 Unis And a total recount - 1 youth team - 1 reserve team (from a team from 2. league) - 4 University teams - 10 Regional Teams (4th and 5th League) - 8 JFL teams (Japan's 3rd league - semiprofessional teams) and here is the full table
Thanks for that - it's been updated for round 2. Three matches on NHK-BS1, and two matches on SKY PerfecTV. I'll see if I can track down a stream for either channel.
