There are a couple of Transfer offers/suggestions going on in Sand Land (Tatooine to Jedi ;))... and I was wondering is there a Protocol etc for Inter League transfers between managers?

Is it basically trade who ever you like and then make necessary adjustments to your roster to comply with FPL (eg: I trade striker and defender for striker and a midfielder) or does it have to be a like for like trade.. striker for striker . keeper for keeper etc.. ??

We've had people trade Def for Mid just last season so that isn't a problem. The only rule I know is that the traded players must fit into the new managers squad by the next gameweek deadline. If you want to trade a midfielder for a forward with quite different prices, that would be fine but both clubs must then make whatever additional changes needed to make their squad legal before the next games occur. You need to make all necessary moves to become legal even including dropping the player you just brought in if you can't figure any better way to become legal. In that case, you still would lose ownership of the player you traded away and the player you were forced to release would be available to all other managers in your league as usual.

I would add that if it becomes clear that trades make no possible sense (for example, I give you Silva and Rooney in exchange for two 4.0 non starting defenders) and appear to be collusion to help a single team then I'd expect that trade would force managers from any rocks league to suggest that both teams get kicked out for the season and probably not invited back in the future. Luckily that has never happened.

Cheers for that.. makes sense. I like your "collusion" caveat .....you must have read that I am indeed an octopus split into 8 different Sand/Dust Management roles....surely transfers between those "arms" would not be seen as collusion ;)

I added the collusion thing because I've seen it happen in other fantasy games. I was in a ESPN NFL draft league with a mix of coworkers and friends that was nearly destroyed by a collusion incident that also saw one team picking weak starters when they played each other. There was one clear collusion incident in another NFL draft league that made me decide to not return after that season. That league also had dodgy draft order issues with the guy who ran it getting the top spot every season and his buddy the second spot a statistically unlikely number of times. In another prem league on a different website, a husband and wife team clearly were working to benefit one of their teams. I quit that league midseason after a vote to punish them lost by one vote since their friends who made up a majority of the league decided to ignore it. In another draft prem game, one guy tried to run half the league. He even numbered his various teams like this Name1, Name2, etc. I left that one before we even got to a draft.

I find it odd why people would cheat at a game. I know some would cheat for cash but only the ESPN one had cash (total pot :$160 but winner got something like a hundred with the rest going to the next two) so I guess the others did it for vanity reasons or something like that. Stupid and shameful to me but I guess in any large group there will always be amoral people ruining it for everybody. Sure we've had our share of "asshats" here but nothing like clear cheating. I hope we never have to face that issue here.

Wow....that would really make me mad. If a game gets to that stage that you need to cheat to win it, I say don't bother playing at all. I am in a Rugby League (greatset game of all:p) Fantasy Game where we all chuck in $50 and winner takes all. There are 16 Managers in there so that is $600.. but there is never any of that bollocks. We are all mates, and work mates of mates so you try and win every week regardless of your position... having bragging rights is much more important that $$ !

Sounds like as long as you guys keep the All Rocks "dollar free" you will get a peaceful friendly game where everyone has fun and enjoys it.. just the way Fantasy should be :D

I'm a lot of things too, but Doctor is not yet one of them.

I am now an officially published author though; and have just received the first copy of my book, hot off the press.

I think there's about ten chapters devoted to Australia.

Torres as captain was my mistake; Ivanovic would have been better.

Imagine if you could have a wild card every week.

Mind you, with the points you're piling on, there's enough of a lead to change the team once a fortnight.

Now I know why I went over to Premier League forum; apart from have a beer with Bro Brody and the 'kirds' - excuse my Kiwi eccernt.

These transfers don't seem to be posted in the Pre-Gameweek 3 thread, so I guess that wildcard was just a sleight-of-hand trick.

wewunwunce has just traded in Ramirez from Southhampton but the wily Nomad already has him (and scored a nice 12 pts for him)

I am going to email and PM Iain but if anyone communicates with him, let him know so hopefully the change can be made before kickoff in mid week games.
