Most of the time both channels have the same programming with the only difference being the broadcast language. However, their studio shows such the pregame/halftime/postgame show "The Express" are different for both channels because of the language spoken by the studio hosts and stadium reporters. Additionally, beIN only has English rights to the French league thus they can't show it on the Spanish channel meaning something else is scheduled for that channel when beIN English is showing a French league game. I've also noticed differences in tape delayed game scheduling as well. Hope this helps.

    Thanks! It definitely does.

My next question is: would you think that it's a good investment to sign up for both channels?

Does anyone know if what huhe888 (now krazykanuck777) claimed regarding TWC and Bright House networks negotiating together is true? All I keep hearing from Bright House networks is that they have never heard of beIN and I'm starting to question Cantona's claim of a done deal b/n TWC and beIN. Bright House has a great HD soccer lineup and I'd like to stick with them if at all possible.

the unannounced deal that is "done" is UVERSE... NOT TWC.. please reread.. like I stated.. negotiations have opened with TWC.. but be careful.. a corporate contract that becomes signed does NOT mean the regions will pick it up... its up to them.

I'm in the same boat with you. I don't know if I should sign up for both channels if/when my cable provider carries beIN. The info I provided above is based on my two weekend experience at my buddy's who has DirectTV and the schedule posted at beinsport.tv. But I know DirecTV 620 (English beIN, also has Spanish SAP) is HD whereas 426 (Spanish beIN) is offered SD only for now but there are rumors it will be offered in HD soon.
Thus, if you want HD urgently then you should sign up for both. Also, you can try calling DirecTV and asking for both channels. I know of someone that had a Spanish only package but called and complained about the lack of beIN in HD and had the Sports Pack added for free ;).

Programming wise, my understanding is that the differences will not be clear for at least two more weeks because of the unusual first two weekends schedule of the Serie A. After the match day 3 weekend (Sep 16) their scheduling plan for the three leagues should hopefully become clear and we should be able to decide if there is a need to subscribe to both channels.

The Phil and Ray show did the Npower Game this morning... WTF?? so instead of using on site tried and true local talent in the feed, they opted for these two??? I couldnt watch the game and hunted for a online feed... the more I listen to Ray.. the more he sounds like a constipated crazy old grandfather.

You are right, you didn't state done deal. However, both you and beInSchwartz have mentioned TWC is close.
In any case, what I wanted to know is whether TWC also negotiates on Bright House's behalf as Oliver claims or not. I'm fairly confident in my region picking it up once corporate and beIN have a deal. My area has a huge Latino population hence why Bright House has an excellent soccer line up with FSC and ESPN Deportes on digital tier and FSC Plus, GolTV, Fox Deportes etc on Sports Pass.

Seriously do not want to hear Ray, Phil and co do any Serie A matches. Didn't enjoy Juve-Parma as much them. This brings me back to the dark days when GolTV started using them on the bigger Serie A matches. GolTV can thank the original Serie A guys like Paddy Agnew, Dave Farrar and co, which originally got me into the league back in 2003 days. Those guys definitely made every game interesting, and although Visca and Neilson do not compare the guys from the mid 00's they are infinitely better than Ray and Phil.

Like some mentioned, surely it is cheaper to use the original feed than hire freelancers to announce. Moreover, surely they know the feed announcers have more knowledge about the league.

Has BeIN shown a single ad yet? I am not talking about those concerning their programs but the ones that generate revenue. Does this company have a business plan?

I watched Juve-Parma on RAI today in Italian. Just finished watching the replay with Phil & Ray, who seemed subdued from their usual standard. Schoen has no business to do soccer matches. He is awful and makes things up as he goes along. He claimed the goal line AR made the PK call. Considering that his view is no better than ours, he does not know. Giovinco got hurt and he stated that it was his plant foot that caused the injury. He made a comment at halftime that Conte was probably pleased to be banned from the touch line after Juve's first half performance. Just shut up. I am tired of his nonsense and have only seen a little of it.

Once Phil Mushnick of the New York Post starting writing about beAN SPORT LLC, the "business plan" of beAN SPORT LLC, specifically the "dynamic duo" of "Y.O." and "N.K." should have become clear: spend as much money as possible in as short a time as possible with international sports TV rights brokers and distributors and watch the "beANz" flow into "private wealth management"accounts at exotic financial institutions such as "LGT Bank" in Vaduz.

International soccer and boxing are the two sports TV products with the following feature: the more one spends on rights, the more "beANz" flow into "private wealth management" accounts.

beAN SPORT LLC and Imagina U.S. have succeeded with their "business plan" beyond the wildest imagination of the senior execs, without the need to bother with such trivial matters as selling advertising or collecting any net subscriber fee.

In due time. This is a start up, and the main goal is to get eyeballs. Apparently, with Dish, Directv and now Comcast, you can make the argument that they should be entering phase two of their Business plan. However, it seems that they also want to bring on board TWC. All the other mso will be icing on the cake.

Phase two should be brand recognition. They need to get a PR department up and running and expend as much as you can on advertising. In turn, one would hope that that will start bringing Ad support.

However, the key here is to get the show on the row, once that is done, you can start moving in to other directions.

Build it and they will come.

I don’t get bien let I have Verizon and I am hoping I mite get it soon got to say my soccer weekend sucks now for the last 4 or so years on a Sunday I would have games to watch from 9:00am until 11:00 pm if I wanted to most days I watched from 11 until 10pm well fast ford to today I have 3 games to watch anyway I have been reading all the bien thirds close since the news about these dumb people broke. I can not believe Verizon can be this dumb hear you have a network who is throwing money at the cable copens just so they can get on and Verizon wont talk o well back to the stone age when it comes to soccer on TV. As for who Bein has calling games I can not for the life of me believe I am reading they have Steve Cangialosi doing the game when they could be using on site guys I think Steve Cangialosi is a good PBP guy I like his work for NYRB on MSG hear in New York but give me a choice with Steve Cangialosi or the on site guys I go with the guys on site. As for them using Phil and Ray to call the NPC game are the people in charge drank why use in house guys when you can use guys on site. God the way they are going seeing them get the EPL scars the heck out of me what are they going to do have Steve Cangialosi and co call EPL games no thank you if that’s the case I think I would be more interested in radio.

Someone write something that makes sense. Is the ultImate plan to have other PPV channels? I and others have no idea what private wealth accounts have to do with this.

DirecTV added the (sd) Spanish channel to its free in-home streaming iPad app. You must subscribe to the channel in order to access it.

Oddly enough GolTV, which was available in English and HD, was removed.

smells like another payoff from BeIn. This is most likely the "delay" I had been referring to.

The on-screen guide (DirecTV) has the PSG v Bordeaux match at 5pm ET instead of live coverage of Valencia v Deportivo. BeIn promoting La Liga tripleheader so it doesn't make sense but on the other hand, the guide is correctly updated with the Montpellier v Marseille kickoff at 11am.

Website programming grill vs. on-screen guide. A bit of a mess....

The more I think about it, the more I personally like beIn. Why? The indirect "consequences" of results of their appearance: for instance, between yesterday and today ESPN Deportes has shown 3 live Eredivisie games. Now that ESPN Deportes does not have La Liga, the channel needs to fill some airspace and it could do far worse than adding live games from a reasonably respectable league.

The only issue I foresee eventually with beIN--and I am sure some of you guys will agree--is that some games between Serie A/La Liga/Ligue Un will overlap time-wise. Then again, that's why beIN has 2 channels so something can be figured out by the execs/productions (I'd hope?).

All I can say is that I am getting just more live soccer on TV (and that's not even mentioning the WCQ US away games or CONMEBOL's WCQ). To me, this is starting to look like mostly a win-win situation.

That may be just me (and a few others), though.

I'm seeing a big problem with Serie A coverage on beInSports....

The French 8am Sunday kickoff listings got me curious to do some investigating. Turns out that Ligue-1 have indeed set a 1400 (local) kickoff time for one match every Sunday this season. The only reason the kickoffs have been pushed back in the first 3 rounds is the heat wave France has been experiencing.

Obviously, this will conflict with the 9am Italian kickoffs. We already know that Serie A will be relegated to delayed-only when they come up against Barcelona and Real Madrid now we have the French League that may push Serie A to the Espanyol channel (read: non-HD) on Sunday mornings as well.

We all knew that the conflicting kickoff times in beIn's inventory of leagues will see some matches being treated as second rate citizens. Looking at the schedule ahead, its becoming clear that the victim will be Serie A and its fans. It won't be until after the World Cup qualifying break that 9am Serie A kickoffs began (Sept. 16th) . Lets hope there is at least some news on the online streaming front from BeIn by then...

Every MSO is holding its hand out for "beANs", with some of the "beANs" headed to GOLTV for losing its position in the sports tiers (how long can GOLTV keep its English-language audio feed?)

In the meantime, the private accounts of Y.O. and N.K. are overflowing with "beANs", as they buy more and more stuff from Traffic, MP& Silva, Full Play, and Pitch Int'l at inflated prices.

Time to let Phil Mushnick take the lead, that is if he doesn't end up in a hole six feet under first...
