Del Piero played (he was back from his injury by then), and you're right Deschamps left that summer.

Still, you had Del Piero, Zidane, David's, Montero, Inzaghi, Zambrotta all playing in that tournament.

i disagree he did NOT get great service and vucinic blew alot more. and the most scoring chances werent necessarily all for him, its wrong to look at stats and make judgments. People use certain stats and its misguided, like how many chances we finished vs. how many we missed and then they conclude that it was matri. If you look at his conversion rate, thats one of the best percentage of any serie A player. Not to mention how he missed so much of the 2nd half.

the thing about matri is, he's not a back up. He needs to be the main player and needs faith of his team even if he has a small slump. He cant perform as a back up and thats my fear. People think he can be back up to some top striker, i dont think he can perform as good like that and which is why in 2nd half he couldnt do much as sub....although he was huge in that milan game. In any case, i get u guys' point but i dont think he's been treated fairly and i too have wished to see the matri-quags duo which we raaarely saw...maybe like 2 halves all season

I'm still hoping for 433 with 3 strikers.

vucinic was very wasteful of course, but matri wasn't doing wonders when he was in there every game and was very wasteful. you can't look at stats for say a LB, but for a striker some points have to be given to pure stats, pure goals scored or assisted. if what you say about him not being able to exist as a starter, then sell him; i would prefer to keep him tho.

phat i agree that i would never pay 100m or whatnot for cavani, or that there is any chance he comes here this season, but just plain talent competition straight up vs matri he is much better. he fits conte's system perfectly, it's a shame he will probably stay in napoli a year or two more then move to city or chelsea or RM.

He would fit and to think he was purchased for 15m approx. I just don't think its realistic to even debate him at this point. Move on. Let's hope we can sign a young/good striker who will break out for us in a similar fashion. Not think we will buy a 50m euro player, especially knowing none are worth that much no matter what the market says.

when he was a regular he was scoring. the stats i was talking about is when people look at the overall team stat and lets say its something like 100 goals scored out of 400 shots on goal....then everyone says our strikers, mainly matri suck! well what about all the shots players like vidal, esti, vucinic, pirlo, marchisio, pepe messed up? what about all the games he didnt play or only played 10 min? its just not a fair comparison. There are stats of him that you can look up which shows how many he converted out of shots taken...i like to see that. i saw it before and he was one of the best in the league.

this is true for every main striker....if u bench rooney his form will drop too. some strikers are super subs and can come and make a sub and others need to be the main guy and have the team's faith. If matri gets 2 chances all game and messes them up, doesnt mean hes shit and should be benched. If he missed 4-5 or if he missed 2-3 chances for like 4 games in a row, then yes u bench him. But with his case it was for no apparent reason. He helped us the milan game then u hardly saw him after it. and we stuck with wasteful borriello and vucinic. This is why u dont see many "champions" or "world class" players anymore cuz they are so quick to be benched and their form drops and then they fade out. Strikers will have their time when theyre hot and times when they're not.

Juventus and Parma have officially exchanged young players Yussif RamanChibsah and Francis Anacoura.
“Juventus Football Club can confirm that an agreement has been reached with Parma for the co-ownership of Yussif Raman Chibsah,” read a statement.
“The Gialloblu have immediately loaned the Ghanaian midfielder back to his former club Sassuolo for the 2012/13 campaign.
“The Bianconeri have also acquired half of Francis Anacoura’s registration rights. The 18-year-old goalkeeper will remain at Parma for the upcoming season.”
Juventus and Parma face each other in the opening Serie A game next weekend.

Alberto Masi is 100 per cent a Juventus player after the Old Lady signed him outright from Pro Vercelli on Wednesday.
The 19-year-old moved to Turin in the summer on a co-ownership basis, but has taken just six weeks to convince the club of his ability.
Masi is a promising defender who started his playing days in the Sampdoriayouth ranks. He’s also played for Lavagnese in his career.
It’s unclear whether Masi will stay at Juventus this season or be loaned to a smaller club to gain experience.

whats so great about Masi? Granted Lucio might be past it, but he was a beast in his career, Masi is nowhere near that standard yet

masi had a great pre season, i love this movie considering the likely minimal fee instead of waiting for him to keep shining and pay more, good job marotta.

lucio may have been once good, but masi has played better preseason and is one for the future rather than a 2 year rental. not saying that lucio shouldn't be above masi on the depth chart right now because of his experience, but i think grabbing a full ownership of masi right now was a good move.

I think that Masi should get playing time over Lucio until he proves that he's not ready for this level. We already have players that can cover up for any mistakes he makes (other centerbacks have bailed Bonucci out a few times). I say, why not let him have the chance to shine? If it doesn't work out, loan him to a Serie B club in January so he can get more playing time.

As long as he does not get the Criscito treatment. Ranieri was an idiot for benching him after he got burned by Totti. As if he was the first.

What about this am I missing? We're paying 11 million euros over three years to Atalanta. Atalanta may be giving us 5.5 million later, but as of now, we're paying 11 million for him.
