Pfffffffffffffft... in the scorching heat we just beat NAC away 1-0, goal by Fer who was excellent altogether.

Scandalous performance by NAC in the first half, they were clearly sent out on the pitch with the job to kick Tadic out of the game. That's what he's got to look forward to this season then. Overall solid performance, a class above NAC, shame we didn't convert more chances as we should've buried this in the first half.

Is there a player in the eredivisie more loathsome than Lurling? I don't think so.

Immers is nasty as are Toivonen and Mertens. Lurling takes it to the next level though.

hahaaa I know why you've reappeared! Looks like you are getting Douglas. We thought he was eligible to play for Holland on August 31 - but that was wrong, it's August 28. So everybody now thinks he's off to Newcastle on the very same day... If you put a high enough bid in that is.

I hope you realise that if he leaves Twente are fecked. With him we'd have a chance to win the league this season..

Are there any names dropped who will replace him if he is sold?

Haha. Yes, I came to read for updates and saw you talking about Lurling. He scored against us on probably my favourite ever night supporting Newcastle.

Our press have mentioned interest from Fulham in Douglas too. I wouldn't say it is cut and dry by any stretch.

Yes, the young Belgian lad from ManCity, Dedryck Boyata. It's almost certain that he's joining us but it'll depend on what we're selling Douglas for if we're buying him or getting him on loan.

All Douglas has to do is call his old mate Ruiz at Fulham to put him off a move to that club, surely..

I do think you'll have to put up more than 5 million Euros mind. Because he infamously has a whole bunch of agents who all want a share of the transfer price.

Ruiz and Douglas could not be more different. I don't think inability to perform well has to do with Fulham where you even have a willing Jol and a substantially transfer sum causing motivation to get him going and make a success of the guy.

Ruiz was perfect for the more technical Eredivisie, but he needs to much time on the ball in the ping pong league.

Dutch media report that Fulham are close to signing Douglas....

I am a 1000 percent certain that Douglas will do well in the premiership, at any club really... I just don't like Fulham. I'd much rather see Douglas at Newcastle.

Me too. Then I can tune in and see maybe 3 Dutch internationals in case van Gaal calls him up. It's a horrible thing Dutch talent is scattered all over Europe and colliding TV schedules preventing you to see half of them and make choices all the time.

The whole axis could build chemistry and one day play in Dutch NT if they win the competition battles with Stek-Heitinga-de Jong.

That would be very nice indeed but unfortunately it looks like the fat toad that is Jol is preventing it from happening!

Supersewelly is there any word on Newcastle selling Tiote?

  19. johan neeskens

    Jan 14, 2004
Rumour has it that Wenger wants Tiote. This is relevant to the Twente thread as it could bring in millions for us hehehe. We've got a big fat sell on clause on him.

For Wenger to sign Tiote he'd have to smash Arsenal's record transfer fee. I'd say it is unlikely.

Bad result for Twente last night. It was a weird game though. At times we looked like completely dominating them. Bursa goals were mostly a result of bad defensive mistakes which is strange as those who were to blame (Rosales, Bjelland) looked solid as a rock previously in the pre-season. The worst news to me is that Chadli is out injured though.

Oh well. Moving on, NEC on Sunday.

Medical staff says 3 to 4 weeks but it's a muscle thing so it's hard to predict.

Anyway NEC 1 Twente 3, goals by Castaignos, Bulykin and Fer. Very attacking line-up today as Brama was also out and Gutierrez took his place. Castaignos played on the left wing. Good game apart from the last 10 minutes (we should've been 5-0 up by then). Bjelland was taken off injured today, no news about him so far.

Gutierrez looks like The Real Thing, beautiful through-passes, excellent technique. He also looks like a bit of a diver but with this team of ideal son in laws I guess we needed a bit of an edge.

Is Douglas leaving? If so, your defense will have to step up.
