Agger sent off. Last appearance for Liverpool? Carragher comes on and looks to have aged about 10 years over the summer.
I was mad that Villa lost today, then I saw that QPR had a try scored on them and that Liverpool lost by a field goal. I wasn't quite as mad after that. But it's a BS call when the linesman puts up his flag, the defenders stop, the linesman drops his flag, a goal is scored, and then the ref allows the goal to stand. I'm not debating whether he was actually offside or not (he wasn't), I'm saying that the goal shouldn't have been allowed based on the linesman's incorrect but raised flag.
Or if you're Portland, don't stop playing when the ref blows the whistle, he might allow the other team to score.
On cloud 9 here. Fellaini was the best player on the field for either team. One of the most dominate performances I have seen from a single player in a long time. Osman is also underrated as he is a smooth little guy who can really pass and move.
Everton singing and all I hear is ManU Crickets...except that chirping from Fergie. Drinking the koolaid its going to be a top 4 finish!
if everton start the season well, and end it the way they always do, they could be in with a shout. the mighty afcb starting the season off getting knocked out of the league cup, and scraping a tie against pooroldpompey. that's what 6 million (english punts) in investment over the summer gets you.
I know Fergie is an old man but the guy can't say anything positive about an opponent when they get beat. This is the best write up about the game that I have seen. Got to lover a journalist who is willing to admit when he is wrong (in regards to Fellaini). http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/philmcnulty/2012/08/towering_fellaini_leaves_fergu.html
Looking forward to our first CL game vs Kiev today--wish I could be home to watch, but gotta work.... Thankful for the dvr.
Champions League draw complete....group D is one to watch! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19414170 Group D: Real Madrid, Manchester City, Ajax, Borussia Dortmund
Is there any seeding or is it purely random which teams are grouped together? This draw looks random and unfair.
That groups is insane. Dortmund unfortunately sold some of their talent but they still could win any of these games at home. Same with Ajax. Insane.
Here it is, seeding is based on "UEFA coefficient ranking" http://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/season=2013/accesslist/listofparticipants/index.html
Thanks. Here's the problem. Borussia Dortmund is ranked 26 of the 32 teams in the groups even though they are the two time defending Bundesliga champs.
