And when they lose they do pull out the oldest excuse in the book "we dont invest in soccer." Although it is the top youth sport in the U.S. it is the same old excuses. The MLS is tied in attendance with NBA and NHL, and that is with stadiums that only fill 12,000. Shit is gettin really old.
His readers spazz and are obviously not members f BigSoccer like this guy who is suffering from delusions of grandeur...lol: NewtonFig really? Ive been following US and MLS soccer, as well as other leagues religiously for 10+ years, and there is no US Mexican rivalry. Its a PR marketing gag -- unless you are a mexican or mexican american who has interest in both sides. Mexico is in great shape right now, yes, but who cares. Please. Concacaf is a joke, the US gold Cup is a laugh. If anyone, we really care about our position in respect to Europe, Brazil, Argentina and a few others at best., because thats where our players want to go to get rich. Grants article - and I greatly admire Grant -- is an advertorial for the game tonight. nothing more. everytime i hear about the Super Classico and the Gold Cup, US Cup etc, I, like most people, yawn. These arent real rivalries. they're marketing. case in point -- the USMNT is bringing their B team tonight. if they dont care about mexico, then clearly there is no rivalry
Oh man, this thread is about to increase exponentially in number of posts... Good game though (bad game actually, but whatever). Had to happen eventually right?
Haha, El Equipo de Todos am I right? I'm about to scrounge around and find some ********ing gems for this place. Full on retards will be coming out of the woodworks tonight.
Yea, it was going to happen sooner or later Sucks that it was to such a bad u.s. squad tho no hate btw
Trust me, we think that squad is just as bad. No hate taken, y'all definitely played better but frankly, both teams were shitty and the game was generally boring compared to prior games.
going into this game i thought to myself, "if usa ties or wins, it wouldn't even bother me" and you know what, it doesn't..
Like I said before, the only thing that bothers me is that they played so horribly, and the goal scorer was a freaking pocho (wtf I thought you guys were on our side?, lol) If this was 2 years ago when they were at their prime I would be furious.....but its now and Im not. Im so confident in this team that i expect to blow qualifiers, might even beat them en their home with our full squad. And I expect atleast the 5th game.
Meh, they have lost before there. If this happened couple years back then it would mean much more to the mexican team.
Agreed. In the shakier days it would've been a dagger. In the end, though, as disappointing as it may be, I didn't see anything I wasn't expecting from them, and we were disappointing. No less optimistic about the future.
