Good heavens man, the transfer window isn't even closed, and it can continue even longer if potential targets are registered before it closes.

Its dificult having an argument with someone who is completely biased and cant see anything good as long as Passarella supported it.Lets be honest if Passarella proclaimed himself in favour of sunny weather you would become a rabid supporter of rain

Thats just not true. I will say good things about DAP and Almeyda if they do good things, I already said the Adidas move was good... And I think the sale of Ocampos is smart. I would have preferred to sell FM9 because I think it will be too hard for him to succeed at River, but the money is good. I am also very pleased about the Chino Luna signing

I also like that Barovero and Rojas are replacing the impresentables Vega and Vella for this game... Though these were moves all 65,000 in the stadium and the millions watch on tv would have made LAST week, but at least we are making progress with the line-up. After reading Almeyda's comments, I was very worried we'd see Vega again

Hopefully we can make 1 more signing

A just listened to an interview with Almeyda... and it really pisses me off what he says about Vega vs. Barovero. All games are worth the same (3 points) it doesn't matter when they are in the calender (this is also to those who say FM9 was more valuable to River than Cavenaghi)

We lost points because Almeyda "respected" Vega's position. A guy who saved only 40% of the shots he faced last season and has a history of dealing poorly with crosses.

Well better late than never I suppose, but damn if we are in a tight race, whether it be to win the title or to stay in primera, those 2 points loss for playing that muerto will be costly. I hope last sunday was the last time we see that sin manos in a river shirt, he needs to go to the ascenso of mexico or a league more at his level. He never should have come to River

I dont actually disagree with most of what you say.But River is possibly the most political club on the planet with many interests many of whom it suits to have the club in a state of chronic instability. When we were the dominant team in the country we could live with these distractions but right now we need all the fans at the games to support the team in the Cancha.I firmly believe we are very near returning to being a top club again as financial stability is returning as is the semillero. The sale of Ocampos for 14 million euro ok only 50% is ours but it shows with stability we will return to being El Mas Grande.Lets be realistic and be happy with a top six in the initial.

I know River is political... That is why i always say i don't wish aguilar was our president nor donofrio as megamac accuses me so often. I hold passrella to the standard he put on himself during the elections. I would would have voted for him had i been a socio in that moment. But I am not pleased with much of what he has done. I agree, he has done some good things, but he has done some poor things also... And much of the murmullos in the crowd are direct result of Almeyda and/or Passarella's poor handling of things

Most people who go to el monumental each week have nothing to do with politics in the club, myself included. But when our two idols are erased in a poor fashion, just as ortega and gallardo were before, obviously it was going to create a tense atmosphere.

Then, you throw in a goalie and a leftback, both of whom are hated by the fans and not good enough to be at river, and you start them and both have a huge impact in the loss, what do you expect to happen?

If Barovero had played just as badly as vega, odds are no one says anything but "it was his first game with la banda, give him time." With Vega, it was a movie we've seen before many times, so obviously the fans were going to lash out.

If you are coach like Almeyda, don't complain about the tense environment when you yourself are creating it more tense by making decisions that quite frankly defy logic and will anger the fans (Like Orban going back to Tigre, being another example. HE had the most interception in the primera. It makes no difference if he wanted to go back to Tigre or not. he had a contract with River, and he should have been told to stay. If they can force the Funes Mori bros to stay, they could have done the same with Orban. And as it turns out, Orban never wanted to leave to begin with so go figure)

I want the best for River and I understand how politically chagred things are and that the oppistion will do everything to take advantage of a mistake. So STOP MAKING STUPID MISTAKES!

Its amazing how Cagna arrived at Estudiantes a few weeks ago and already has an idea of play at estudiantes. They play triangles, paradas, one touch passing

Almeyda has been at river over a year and we have none of that.

We may well win this game, but it won't be pretty. Our only futbol is generated from Lanzini's gambetas. No one else does anything but hit long balls

Trezeguet! MAESTRO!!!!!! He's playing like an enganche! Puts two perfect passes, first to Lanzini who flubs it, then to Funes Mori who flubbed his first chances, but hit in the rebound

    GOOOOOOOOOLLLL!!!!!!!

he has good interplays with Trezeguet. I think alot is David but they are a pairing that produces, as aggravating as FM9 can be.

Nice to see Sanchez find some form again too, he fell off hard by the end of last year.

Funes Mori was magnificent he really has massive potential.Trezeguet is a great profesor. But we can thank Barovero for some good saves and the referee gor not giving a clear penalty by Gonzalez Pirez But three great points in La Plata

It was not a vintage performance, but as you say big 3 points. Its amazing what playing with a goalie does to your confidence.... I was calm even when Estudiantes had a set piece or was close to our goal. He doubted himself on an early chance for Desabato, but overall I was so pleased with Barovero. He made a very nice save from la gata as well, but perhaps most importantly you can note that he has confidence and can organize the defense.

The thing with Funes Mori is that he needs to put a string of good games together. This is not the first time he has had a multi-goal game... The last time was against Independiente in the 2010 Apertura, and many people were thinking he may even be the goleador of that tournament at the time... He ended up scoring just once more the rest of the season

The good thing is that he has scored everytime he has played against Tigre, so lets hope the streak continues!

    Other notes:
    - It seems Almeyda has his heart set on a 4-4-2. I see Rojas coming in for Lanzini sooner rather than later... I'd rather we played with an enganche. I'd love to see what the pibe can do in his natural position. His talent is undeniable.
    - I was disappointed to not see Cazares or Keko today. The game was crying out for some speed with the oafs Alayes and Desabato in defense. They weren't needed, but it would have been nice to give one or both of them some confidence while up 2-0 late. Instead he put in Ledesma to waste time more than anything
    - The defense continues to be a worry. Gonzalez Pirez is off. That penalty was so clear and he only hits pelotazos. He needs to learn to play the ball on the ground.
    - Ramiro is better than Vella, but we need a real 3. It doesn't seem that one will arrive, but its going to continue to plague us until we get one

I agree 100%.Three points and apart from Funes Mori,Barovero and Mercado not that much positive.I also dont much like this 4-4-2 which deprieves Lanzini of his natural game.We are supposed to be buying Mora,Piatti and Formica but what we need NOW IS A THREE.You are right every team will target us on the left until we solve this problem. We cant buy anyone now so really the pibe Martinez should get his chance.
I wouldnt take Gonzalez Pirez off because of the penalty. For a central he is very young and he needs time to learn.A serious worry for me has been the poor form of Cirigliano in the two games. In the B he was our best player.I thouggh the A would be perfect for him to show us all what he could do but so far when Aguirre comes on he improves things which tells us a lot how he is playing

With Trezeguet out, we will most likely play Lanzini higher up the field and Rojas will come in to play on the left.

I like Rojas, but this could be a game where we miss Cavegol who scored 2 goals for villareal

Trezeguet played really well as a pseudo enganche last game, so now it will be up to lanzini to have any creativity in the team.

This will now be a huge game for Lanzini to show his worth. It was good to hear this week neither Cirigliano or Funes Mori want to go to Europe.

I'm very happy that Keko is not only staying at River, but starting...

However, its another decision out of left field from Almeyda. Keko didn't play a single minute in either of the first two games, despite both matches calling for his speed (particularly against Belgrano to come back when Almeyda didn't even use all 3 subs and then last week to kill the game off against desabato and alayes) and now he randomly starts him.

Like I said, I am very happy for Keko, but the decisions almeyda makes are just dumbfounding

I will never understand Almeydas decision making process. Here I am looking forward to seeing Lanzini playing higher up and this just poof appears out of nowhere. Im not really unhappy but it is a bit disheartening to see this decision made so randomly.

but here is to Keko, its what weve been wanting so were getting it.

Also does anyone else feel like River is really on the come up? They brought in some good players, and have mad talent coming up. I dont think its that unreasonable to think this current team could at least stay around the top this season.

Not with Almeyda at the helm imo. If it was Gallego or another coach, it would have been possible but Almeyda is so f****** erratic in his choices.
Now apparently it has been announced he doesnt have Arano into account after saying he was very important to him. That made left Orban... Pathetic.

Three very important points won in Tigre.River started brillaintly but it went downhill after that.Neveetheless to win at Tigre is a huge win not many will get three points there. For me FM 9 was the figura even though he didnt score two excellent assists. The midfield was very poor in the second half and until Rojas arrived our left was an invitation to attack.Barovero who did good things is not good under aerial attack.Again Cirigliano was poor and Ledesma or Aguirre must be close to starting next week.
Great so see Keko and Lanzini score

Buen triunfo. Muy bien Ponzio y Sanchez.

However, I was a bit disappointed at how much morale the team loses after conceding. I noticed a huge decline in our play after Tigre scored their first goal.. we then picked up our game in the second half, but the same decline happened again when they scored their second goal. It's been a bad habit for quite a while now, something that definitely needs to be fixed.
