But if Iniesta was picked Player of the Tournament...? (Yeah, maybe Iker winning La Liga gets him a podium place over Andrés, but who knows...)

Casillas over Iniesta? I dunno. I'd guess the other way around.

Clever. You should also replace the middle of the faceplate with a mirror.

    Iniesta deserve it

Cassilas? Spain possession helped him alot not to conceiding more goals.
It has been proof by the fact Valdes is 5 times Zamora's winner, because Barcelona 70% ball possession in every single games means he's less threatened compare to other goalkeeper.

reminds me of that world cup 2010 match against Spain which he took all freekicks and shoot all of them straight even from halfway line distance. All SQUARE button!

^^ I don't think Iniesta "deserves" it in a way the trophy should go to the best player of the year.

Not that I'd be bummed if he got it and weirder things have happened too.

F**k me for defending the Madrileño, but although I would agree with you on this point I would add that we have often given props to Valdes for making key saves despite having stood around 'cold' for most of the game.
And Casillas did come up with some great key saves at the EURO:
    - In the opener against Italy he tipped a close range Cassano shot wide of the post and kept out a point blank range header from Motta.
    - Against Croatia he saved a close range header from Rakitic when it was still 0-0. That save arguably kept Spain in the tournament.
    - Kept out a long range free kick from Debuchy which nearly snuck into the upper left corner of goal.
    - After X.Alonso missed the first kick in the Portugal shootout Casillas came back immediately to thwart J.Moutinho.
    - May not have meant much since Spain were leading 2-0 in the second half but he did make a point blank save from Di Natale in the final.
Keep in mind that I'm not talking about the EURO player of the tournament but the top three shortlist of the Ballon d'Or (which he definitely will not win).

    EDIT:
We need to include this in our season prediction thread. :p "List the top three shortlist for the Ballon d'Or and who will win."

I believe winning player of the year takes consistency throughout the year and Xabi and Pirlo admitted Messi and Ronaldo are on different level than the others. But Messi has the edge in term of "player of the year" because he has 70+ goals plus 29 assist plus el pichichi and champions league golden boots. If that's not enough nothing will be enough. Cassilas surprsingly still behind Valdes in La liga in term of goal conceided. Not to mention Barcelona still winning on head to head this season with 3 win and 1 lost. Messi also scored 3 goals in qualifier plus 2 hattricks in friendly
while Ronaldo scored 3 goals in Euro so I dont see how Messi and Ronaldo will be out from top 3 so that's left the third spot probably to Cassilas.

I do think Cassilas will probably make it into top 3 cause conceiding just 1 goal in 6 Euro matches is outstanding no matter what.

    • Don't quote the troll please.
As long Real Madrid win Champions League/Spanish League every season then Messi can win how many ballon d'shit he wants.

Ronaldo can keep showing this thigh muscle in every matches to satisfied Madrid fans

Lol at that muscle showing douche celebration.

That said: I wonder why players don't take stabs at each other more often, like, imitating their trademark moves. I'd like to see Messi take one freekick imitating CR's preparational steps and pose, Iniesta showing muscle etc.

^^^ Not just players but coaches too. I'd like to see Tito poke Mou in the eye.

^ That's where we differ lol. But I wouldn't mind seeing Mourinho imitating Tito and not poking people's eyes. I know it's a lot asked, but I hear he likes challenges.

If Mourinho liked challenges he'd take a stab at coaching a mid-table team that has £€$$ access to some of the world's greatest talent.

We all know Barca players personality, especially Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, they always prefer to speak highly of someone else rather than praising themselves.

and I dont know if he's trying to mock C.R on this one :D , skip to 0:50

Y'all know I'm joking when I say this but Leo has already played 4 more games than the O.A. (original alcantara) and has 96 less goals, so WPOTY to Paulino:

ironically, only 137 goals of them scored in competitive game, which put him in #6 in all time top scorer list... he's not among Barcelona la liga top scorer list either. So I wonder how many friendlies Barcelona has back in the day lol
