The sale of star duo Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva to Paris Saint-Germain, coupled with the arrival of just one high-profile player in the form of Riccardo Montolivo, has prompted many pundits to write off the Rossoneri's title hopes, while some San Siro season ticket holders are even seeking refunds.

However, Galliani is of the opinion that last week's 1-0 victories over Chelsea and Schalke has underlined that Milan are still a force to be reckoned with.

"In less than a week we have beaten the reigning European champions and the team ranked third in the Bundesliga," he declared. "This confirms the fact that we have a good squad available to us.

"[Daniele] Bonera is proving himself to be a great defender, while the defence is holding up well.

"In the attack, the fact that we did not give so many points of reference makes us dangerous and unpredictable; midfielders like [Urby] Emanuelson are linking up well.

"But obviously the most important thing is always the spirit with which we deal with things."

Some Milan fans are still hoping that the club might yet make a major splash in the transfer market but Galliani, who recently argued that Italian sides are no longer in a position to attract the game's biggest names, has ruled out any major investments.

"The top players, I have already said, should not be bought, but created," the Monza native declared.

Milan, who finished second to Juventus in Serie A last season, will kick off their 2012-13 campaign against Sampdoria on August 26.

How to create them when Allegri is hardly ever allowed to give youngsters a chance?

 

Liking the links between Milan and Hernanes/Sahin, I'd love one of these guys to come to the club, if not both. But can't see Milan splashing 25-30m for both, they will go for one, and most likely attempt to go the cheaper option and sign Sahin. Also, thankgod he's increased the offer for Mbiwa, I was hoping we'd step it up to get this guy, he's the CB I would like to come ahead of anyone else.

we've signed montolivo, traore, kevin constant, and francesco acerbi.

we're linked with mbiwa ( cb ) from montpellier. galliani is going to meet with that club on wednesday, to try to sign the player. lots of rumors that kaka is returning....

that's pretty much it. lol..and the occasional story of tevez/dzeko.

 

Galliani needs to sign this French defender from Montpellier. We are so close to signing him that it should be done. Supposedly he is the captain of the team which won the Ligue 1 so he has to be decent. I like Bonera and Yepes but they aren't starters for big games. Mexes and Acerbi will be nice, but another CB will be great.

I keep hearing Balzaretti doesn't want to join Milan. He supposedly chose Roma, yet hes still thinking it over. I like him and wish he would come. Abate/Balzaretti on flanks will be huge.

I like our team now. I think that the players will step up and play to their abilities. With Ibra up top, he made him the focal point. However with Boateng/Urby/Nocerino/Robinho, they will all be able to make runs and swap positions. Montolivio will be able to pull the strings in midfield and "dictate" the flow while Pato/SES will play up top. I think we will be playing a lot of fast moving counter attack style. If we sign a LB or another box to box midfielder (Khedira) than I think we are good. We don't need a trequartista because than thats just another focal point. I think thats exactly what Allegri doesnt want. Tho we shall see...

OFFICIAL: Taiwo joins Dynamo Kiev on a 1-year loan deal with a buy-out clause.

Galliani will not travel tomorrow to France,their demands are to high.

 

Other defenders I'd rather have for that price. Especially one from Brasil. They won't get 18mil for Yanga. They didn't even get that for Giroud.

 

i'd rather sign dede or ogbonna.
