I finally found the TV schedule for Chicago Nonstop 5.2 and they dont't replay any of the games. Andy I hope that next our games are not on Nonstop 5.2, I'm sorry if you have to pay to get games on CSN then so be it.
Initially I was excited because it's an over the air channel but damn does it leave a lot to be desired. WGN is the way to go.
Too bad at&t u-verse doesn't carry nbc nonstop, I was looking forward to seeing MacDonald . . . . sitting on the bench!
MacDonald made a nice pass to free up Logan one on one with Busch...Logan could of walked around Busch with a fake shot...but that's not his game... Wait...did I just write Logan one on one with Busch? That's too freakin' weird.
Directv doesn't have 5.2 as well and it's so frustrating when the Fire are on the road and I can't watch them. I like the idea of some games on WGN. At the least I would like to see WCIU or CSN get every game that NBC Sports or ESPN doesn't show.
The reason the games are on 5.2 is because we have to pay for our games to be on TV. So Andy took the cheap (again) route and put them on 5.2. I just hope next year there all on CSN, My50, or stations like WGN or NBC 5. I could see the games on CSN, My50, but not on WGN or NBC 5, come on Andy no more 5.2 televised games (next year).
Then the guide is wrong, I looked at the TV schedule on NBC website and there isn't a replay of the game.
It's just not good enough. Next season's deal must be better. Can't raise the profile of the team and sport in Chicago without being seen.
At least NBC NonStop is HD, better than some other local MLS deals. That being said I think the non-stop network is going to be re-branded in the next year or so to merge into a national channel and compete for the lucrative Golden Girls/Matlock/Cheers syndicated market. Whether local sports will be a big enough deal to preempt this bargain programming or whether it will take a local newsmergency to cut into the re-runs, I have no idea.
No it's not. It's upscaled 480p at best. Even though my cable box says 720p (I have Comcast and Non-Stop is a Comcast station) it's horribly compressed. It's so bad I could hardly read the numbers on the back of the jerseys. Maybe for those viewing it over the air with an antenna it looks better.
I bought a really good antenna before the season started. I receive great reception on all channels (I only watch Channel 11 and Channel 20 over the air, as they are not in HD on DishNetwork). Channel 5.2 does not look any better than you described it when watching over the air. It is pretty bad for supposed HD.
Ah thanks for the input on over the air. My suspicions are that it is a digital channel and widescreen natively just upscaled. Which is why it looks like crap compared to other HD channels.
