I'm not a huge fan of Shea but thought that was the best i've ever seen him play last 15 minuets, had a real impact on the game, drew some corners, free kicks, lots of service.
Sercan was pretty terrible but then again he does'nt get enough consistent time to make to many judgments, would rather have Pizzaro as fourth forward. By the way who knows what the formation was the last 10? It just seemed like everyone was everywhere, it was crazy but anyways, move on it's just one game not the end of the world.

....did we really just lose to vancouver..again?...That was not a PK at all.

vancouver really did a cake walk through this match, on the lucky side.

that giveneshuck or whatever that turks name is needs to go away.

he gives german footballers a terrible name, GET A REAL GERMAN.

I'm pretty sure that the frantic look to the team had to do with a certain someone doing a certain something and not letting the regular players there do their job. I'll wait for the data before I name names, but I'm sure his supporters will know who I'm talking about ;).

This team has played us better than any other team we have gone up against, they will be a problem in the postseason.

We can put the Dawkins starting case effectively to rest now. And yes, Pizarro had to be above sercan by now

I wish Garza had been available as well. We needed more wide play. Started to see a little bit more of it towards the end when they weren't just hoping it into the box from deep. You have to play to your strengths and trying to give it to Gordon to run onto just isn't the road to success with this team. Frank didn't look comfortable with his available options.

Great minds think alike! ;) I also wish we could see more of Garza and we really do need Lenny back now!

In normal circumstances I hope it's garza first off the bench for our wide players

He was listed as questionable due to ankle sprain, unfortunately.

We lost to Marrufo, like we always do. Or we lost on turf, like we always do. Whitecraps had little to do with it.

    How cryptic! haha ;)

Anyone know how much longer untill Garza should be ready? Also how many years does Sercan have on he's contract, i'm worried there might be an entire year more of him after this seasons done.

Yeah so Marrufo is right in from of the play and doesn't call it yet the linesman call a pk and he is yards away. Whatever happened to overruling the linesman?

Thought it was a PK at first but he took a heavy touch & Busch was on it, he knew he blew the chance & definatly took a dive a little at least, was there enough contact though to warrant a PK? I'd probably say yeah, sometimes they go for you sometimes against. If the lines man gave it & not the ref that would suggest the ref never saw it? Because if he did & never called it why would he change he's opinion for that of the linesman? By the way Wondo lost it for a couple seconds right after that call, he was pretty fired up.

Oh, c'mon. Don't dismiss them that easily. The penalty, even if soft, was caused by terrible defending and bone-headedness by Cronin. Vancouver defended well and exploited the acres of space that the Quakes gave them. We've seen the weakness of the Quakes, and it's defending speed. That's funny to me because they do a pretty good job of exploiting it for offensive purposes.

No it may have been a pk and yes that is the second one given two games in a row. The thing is what is the ref doing in front of the play not making the call and having a linesman call it? I can't really remember the last time I've seen that.

After the Chicago game on the 28th we have 2 weeks off & don't play again untill i think the 11th against the Sounders, he should be ready by then. Wednesday was the 18th, so that will be 3 & a half weeks.

Sure. What I'm saying is it's not worth debating about because that's out of the hands of everybody but the referees. There was contact and the guy sold it. Right or wrong, I just don't think it's very productive to get worked up over calls that go against you. Did enough of that in my playing days. There were a whole lot of other things that were going on that the team did have control of and they didn't do them.

On another note, I was worried about Beitashour maybe getting too many minutes with the All-Star game, but we don't have to worry about that now . Do we see a Zayner debut? I wonder what that will mean for the defense as a whole.

Heavy touch... that was not a pk. How does Marrufo let the linesman overrule him??? Insanity!

We played decent... possession was pretty even. 1-1 draw would've been a fair result.

Agree we could've used better wide play, I wouldn't say it's Dawkins fault. I would say it's the fault of Cronin, Baca, Bernardez, and Hernandez just hoofing long balls vertically into the mixer instead of working it up the wings for diagonal crosses. We thrive on crosses from the wings and we weren't getting enough of that. The short passing was close to working in the first half but we just couldn't execute the final killer pass to create a shot.

They need a rest as they've played 3 games in a week. Lenhart being out certainly doesn't help and this Sercan, is no good for this league....
