In light of the Alaba/Rafinha injuries, I think something is needed. Classic Bayern. No cover in the ONE area we unforeseeably will have injuries in. Somewhat unpredictable, yet that is what predictability is about... prevention.
Yea we're fine, don't really need any additions. Our squad is full as it is. It's time for Heynckes to really rotate this season.
Only change we need is a central midfielder with creativity and some speed/tenacity. Anything else at this point is unnecessary.
Leverkusen CEO Holzhäuser: "I don't want any trouble with Bayern, but I'm surprised and angry that Jupp Heynckes has indirectly made their interest in Lars Bender public. I'm surprised that Jupp Heynckes even knows how to send text messages all of a sudden. Last week they enquired about Lars Bender. I told them that we are not going to sell him. We agreed with Bayern not to make this public and not to speak to the player." http://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/wolfgang-holzhaeuser/geht-auf-heynckes-los-25275234.bild.html
Don't see how saying he's a good player that would help us and that we'd be happy to have is any sort of threat to Leverkusen unless the player himself is not happy with the situation there. We have no leverage if Bender isn't interested in a move.
It might not be about that as much as it is about stating interest publicly, which let's face it, it was and according to Holzhauser, something that both clubs agreed on. Now imagine if they contacted Bender behind the club's back......wouldn't put that past Bayern.
Isn't Weiser supposed to be good on both flanks? I'd play him as LB instead of Contento. Don't want Lahm to keep switching flanks.
Weiser, who feels at home “on both wings," http://www.fcbayern.telekom.de/en/news/news/2012/35738.php?fcb_sid=fceaee04e776e49b0debfb3c0c1038ad If he's any good defensively, he'd definitely offer more than Contento on the left imo.
First of all, he has played most of his games on the right. Second, why would you throw him in on the left right away when Contento has played there much more and is already more experienced. Weiser wasn't brought in to get rid of Contento. Besides, he is probably going to be used as a winger first and foremost and they're not going to throw some new young kid into defense at the beginning.
1) Weiser wasn't brought in to get rid of anyone. Contento has more experience at LB than Alaba, but that doesn't count for much does it? Frankly, the one game where he looked okay was the CL final, that too because Chelsea did almost nothing attack wise. 2) I get what you mean, I am not suggesting that they do that in the middle of the season. Its still pre season, which is for experimenting. It might work out, who knows. 3) Weiser is hardly going to get any time on the wings. He's behind Robbery, Muller, Shaqiri and even Mandzukic in the pecking order. 4) We have 2 injuries in defense. Surely there's more chance he might be used there?
Let's not anoint Weiser as the next superstar already ... he was bought cheaply and is one of Germany's biggest youth talents. Nevertheless he has only been involved in 1 BL game. He has the whooping experience of 15 minutes during a 2-0 defeat against Leverkusen. Contento is way ahead of him in the depth chart. Weiser will either get some time on the bench or play for the 2nd team. Let's not forget that Contento played really well in the CL final too...
and Bayern doesn't pay every price and Neverkusen didn't even sell freaking Schürrle for 25 Mio so go figure that they demand a similar fee for Bender and I'm pretty sure Bayern wont pay that especially since Bender is not as complete as Martinez
