What's your schedule over the next few weeks as we come to the approach the 8/18 start date for EPL matches?

VegasVirgins, Vacation 8/9 to 8/14, will have computer access most of the time so it should not be a problem. Otherwise 24 on and stay on.
Rockville Gunners, (Generally out of touch for most of July. I recall a post somewhere about this.)
    ColdDogSoup FC,
    Glorydaze fC,
Sasha Juniors, (Tom has said he will be gone at "last two weeks in July")
    blechs dawgs,
    FC St. Pauli,
    FC Touchline Ban,

Chuck and Tom, please add dates. Everyone else should post something about availability.

    Thanks.

I will be back in town July 29th. When are people thinking to start the draft?

    pretty much good for anytime;

I am spending most days 8 am-8ish pm at a place with sometimes spotty internet service and near zero phone internet access, and Thursdays can be tough access days, but that said, I should be able to manage it all without causing any significant inconvenience

SWEET to no Euros in our league (just for the time issue.)

    I'm readily available throughout.

Summary of what we have heard so far:
VegasVirgins, Vacation 8/9 to 8/14, will have computer access most of the time so it should not be a problem. Otherwise 24 on and stay on.
Rockville Gunners, (Generally out of touch for most of July. I recall a post somewhere about this.)
ColdDogSoup FC, "pretty much good for anytime"
Glorydaze fC, "Good pretty much anytime"
Sasha Juniors, "I will be back in town July 29th"
    blechs dawgs,
FC St. Pauli, "I'm readily available throughout"
    FC Touchline Ban,

    Missing a couple.

My suggestion for a starting time is around 8/3-8/6. My unique situation is such that I have better control over my time on weekdays rather than weekends, but still I can and will be on almost continuously. That give us a week to complete and about a week of transfers open transfers.

    Any other thoughts?

That time period works for me. I don't see a need to rush the process.

Likely won't have much Internet access Friday and Saturday, but after that should be pretty good.

Nothing from Paul B. yet. I will email him today. Also need more from Mr. Cannon, but that might not come for awhile yet.

No Friday/Saturday moves us to a possible Aug 6 or Aug 7 start. Pray for a good pick???

I'm back...but off again soon. I'm here until Thursday this week then completely out of touch until 7/31 or 8/1. I'll then be on here off and on until the season starts with a few days when I'll be in areas with no internet access for 8-12 hours at a time. I'm for starting the draft as late as reasonably possible.

Last season we started on 8/3 6:15PM (my time) and the last pick was done at 8/7 9:05PM with the season starting 8/13. So 4 full days was plenty of time and we were done 5.5 days before the first game. We're all old hands at drafting so I don't see why we'd need more than that this season. Drafting earlier just makes it more likely that we'll see one of our early picks go down with a long term injury. I'd vote we start no earlier than 8/6 and would prefer 8/8 or at least a go slow until then. That would still likely see us done by 8/12-13 with the season starting 8/18.

Mr. Cannon has responded, therefore ...
VegasVirgins, Vacation 8/9 to 8/14, will have computer access most of the time so it should not be a problem. Otherwise 24 on and stay on.
Rockville Gunners, "completely out of touch until 7/31 or 8/1 ... here off and on until the season starts with a few days when I'll be in areas with no internet access for 8-12 hours at a time"

FC Touchline Ban, "Likely won't have much Internet access Friday and Saturday, but after that should be pretty good."

I have no problem with a 8/6, 8/7, 8/8 start and hopefully we can replicate the amazing effort from last year. My contribution from 8/9-8/14 will be something less than last year. Also thought some would benefit from a weekend date to start.

I can't be on 24/7 during the week but should be able to check in regularly; however, I will be completely unavailable on 8/11 and possibly 8/12 as well, so I'd probably opt for the 8/6 start. But I am confident it will all sort itself out and will go along with everyone's preference if the desire is to start a little later.

Any reason not to stick the names in the draft generator now? Hal posted the link in the VSR thread:
    http://www.net-commish.com/tools/random/index.php

Assuming no one has closed any accounts, I believe I have all of the emails from last year's Google docs (including FCSP and FCTB), so I can run that. I also am fine just having Vegas run it and telling us the result if people prefer not to hand over emails to net-commish.....

I say, "RUN IT." All we really need is a couple live emails to verify the result. Once the first round is posted here it becomes set in stone anyway.

The 6th seems to generally work. Let's say, "6 August"

Agreed. Run the generator and lets shoot for an Aug 6 start at whatever pace we can muster.

you should have received an email with the draft order.
note: this is the email that i'll be using when i finish setting up the Google doc. if you want me to use a different one for that (or an additional one for that), start a "conversation" with me and let me know. we can always add additional email access later as well.

Shouldn't the winner of last year get some sort of draft order deduction or something say -3 or so? I thought the person that enters the names getsin the top two all the time.

Yeah, second last year and first this is too much. But Paul will tell you he had to practically talk me into taking RVP. Really didn't want to deal with the RVP question this year.
