Blowing off training? Do you have anything to back that up aside from your perceived bias towards Brek? If he was blowing of dozens of practices, I'm sure you can go find a source to back it up, as if that were happening I don't think there's any way someone doesn't report on it.

If he's getting subbed for not playing up to his ability, one would think if he was just blowing off one practice after another he wouldn't have started every game he was healthy for, on top of starting games while still injured.

I'd imagine it's similar to the Crew forum. :(

The NBC commentators mentioned the missed training time. Now how serious is that, how much of it was due to just turf toe? I don't know, they didn't specify.

I have no bias against Shea. I just believe he has a lot of maturing to do. The wheels on the train from his performances last yr have fallen off. Shea needs to do some serious self-examination about what it means to be a professional. At the moment no European club will want him in his current state, form and mental.

Is Hyndman horrible tactic wise? Yes, I think so and combine that with Dallas' place in the standings and Shea playing without much help around him you're going to get a frustrated player. But his play has been poor, first touch off, and not confident.

In MLS with a salary cap, when your best offensive player is available the coach is going to play him. And that means sometimes disregarding poor form or off the field issues.

Here is a quote from FC Dallas player Daniel Hernandez

I didn't know of Hernandez twitter rant. If so then he's a hypocrite. Still it doesn't excuse Shea's reaction. I predict Hyndman will be gone before Shea.

I think Brek definitely could have handled it better. But I also think it's partly a product of a broken locker room where even the recent captain, DH, went off on twitter after being subbed out for the 2010 MVP. I mean, if the then captain didn't respect the coach, it most likely has filtered down to everyone else, has been there under wraps, but is starting to make its way into the public. Hyndman has a history of not getting along with players. Just look at all the mids he didn't get along with who excelled as soon as they left, starting with Dax and Chavez.

Brek does need to mature. But I also think he's in a somewhat toxic situation in Dal.

Lack of professional maturity coupled with a toxic situation is a pretty terrible mix for his development, if he is lucky he will have another team by next summer.

    Possibly... :cautious:

He does sell his paintings (his 'company' is Left Foot Studios) and the money goes to benefit the FC Dallas Foundation... If you're interested :) not really my style though lol

So, is there a substantial reason Brek Shea continues to have a thread in Yank's Abroad? Nothing I've read is indicating he is going to be anything more than a MLS player for the near future.

All doesn't mean what you think it means.

And Geoff says high from England. How does it feel being wrong again? Johnny One Note can only play one note.

Ok, let's concede this point for the sake of argument.

What kind of demented mind considers a salesman who can sell ice to Eskimos bad at his job????

You've taken this anti-Garber agenda so far you've lost your bearings and you're actually COMPLIMENTING him!

    1. You are asserting Stoke overpaid for Cameron. Keep in mind that Pulis stated that MLSers are good value for the money.
    2. Your general argument is at odds with the known facts. That's as politely as I can put it.

Anyway, we're getting off the Brek Shea topic. MLS sells it's share of players, and if a club wants to pay a fair price for Shea, history proves that MLS will sell him.

so Stoke "overpays" yet their coach said MLS players were "great value"...guess which one I'm going to side with.

Also holy crap if you're slagging Cameron because of that OG. WTH should he have done to prevent the ball ricocheting off him? Teleportation?

I had turf toe my senior year of college soccer. I could not train and only played in games for 6 weeks, when it finally cleared up. That was actually pretty short period of time.

For a soccer player, it is a terrible injury- since it effects everything you do on the pitch. It even can mess you up long after it heals, since you alter your game (like a golf swing) to accomodate the pain and lack of mobility, and that creates bad habits
on how you strike and handle a ball.

Super easy to re-injure and never let heal. It only takes one guy to step on your foot, or you cut the wrong way, etc.

If a speculative Adu thread gets closed based on pure conjecture, so should this. I don't mean to be a prick, but this narrative has been a distraction and lingering on for too long. We can always start a new thread when something substantial arises.

Lets be serious, all the links posted make then Daily Mail look credible.

Edit: Even the author of said article admits he is speculating.

I (and most others) don't come to the "Brek Shea Liverpool Interest" message board on BigSoccer for hard news. People come here to speculate about Brek Shea's future. I'm sorry if it's a "distraction" for you, but there is an easy solution for your problem. Just don't click on the link that opens the thread.

Sorry mate, you (and most others) can take your interest in Brek to the FC Dallas forum then. There is nothing keeping him here unless the Moderators decide. It's not about me, but it is about the sub-forum which looks down on unwarranted authorial and poster conjecture.

The Moderators (I like that capital letter) concur. The thread certainly met the minimum standards when it started, but the story has died away. We've got a pretty strong thread on Shea going in the US News and Analysis forum for folks who want to continue the speculation. YA will have to wait for a more concrete rumor/news story, at which time someone can start a new thread on him.
