All more likely to score than Benitez. I'm just saying, I would even have taken JdG over Benitez. Seeing him running up to the ball at the PK spot, Stevie Wonder could have seen he was going to miss it.
Embarrassing. Horrendous player management. I've supported the team for a decade now, and have never been as mortified by a loss as by this one.
You are focusing on the aftermath. Look to when Brek was played at center back. There's the seed. Granted Brek signed with MLS which he shouldn't have done if he wanted to run the show but I can't hold that against him since he was so young. You are a good Hunt supporter. I prefer to support the players. More than just Brek have taken the Hyndman shaft. I still love seeing Coop, Dax, Drew and Marvin succeed. Schellas... Pshhh
Brek's an easy target for some who'd rather not look elsewhere, like the rest of the roster or the head coach. I guess Brek should start getting on the end of his crosses, or should do a 1-2 with himself, instead of passing to a teammate and seeing them F up a simple 1-2 into space. BTW, even Martino is talking about SH losing Brek and Hernandez. Same story repeating itself. This will get worse.
Yeah, that run-up was bad. Seriously, who was wearing the armband at that point, and why didn't he tell Jair "no"? (It was probably Hartman, and that would explain why.)
Brek was crap and has been crap for several matches. He earned his hook. As for the Ferreira sub, please. It was the 81st minute, they were down 2-0, they've got a game on Saturday night, and he's in his fourth game back after 14 months out.
You're right. Castillo and Benitez were terrific, and definitely not deserving of a hook. If only Brek got on the end of one of his own crosses, maybe it'd be different. Too bad he couldn't keep up with the creativity on display all over the pitch from his teammates who definitely aren't deserving of a hook, lol.
If it doesn't mean a thing after getting zero points in San Jose, it wouldn't mean a thing after one point in San Jose. A draw would've been nice, I guess, but at this point, we need to be picking up points three at a time and that was seriously unlikely after Gordon scored, at which point your boy genius was still out there.
HA! Me? A good Hunt supporter? Come on, I'm one of what? 10 people that post here regularly? You should know I give the Hunts plenty of shit because they deserve it. As for Schellas, he's clearly lost the plot. Something you'd also realize I point out all the time if you'd pay attention. Oh, hello random dude. I'm not "needlessly backing" SH. I'm calling Brek Shea out because no one else will. He's acting like a fool and he's going to throw his career away if he doesn't pull his head out.
Good thing we traded that piece of crap Chavez... I raise my glass to Marvin tonight. the man who turned down his national team call up in the past to play for a depleted FCD and support his coach Hyndman. Then got dumped by the same old fart. Glad he found a coach, a team and a system that supports his growth as a player.
Probably a fair result but a point was there for the taking. IF SEALY CAN NOT TAKE A PK IN THAT SITUATION THEN WHY IS HE ON THE TEAM AT ALL?! I would have rather JdG or Jackson or Sealy take that PK. Never any doubt Jair would put it high, wide, or both. Haven't heard all that about Shea but if true it's more of an indictment of Hyndman than anything else. Brek's play, when on the wing, has still been fantastic, but he can't score off his own crosses or pass to someone who isn't there. We have DF10 back, if we can now get Perez back this team will be dangerous and fun to watch. Will not make the playoffs, that ship has already sailed and sunk, but at least we will get some Ws and help determine who makes the playoffs and doesn't. I am hopefuly for a strong finish to the season which will set us up for a good 2013 with full healthy. PS - Pretty sure Hedges and Pertuz will be our starting CBs next season, Ugo may still be here and start, but not John.
Ugo has been out for a while. He must have some people in his ear telling him there's too much risk to his brain. I hope if he returns it's a wise decision.
Anyone who thinks Brek should not have been subbed out in that game clearly wasn't watching. His lead foot and poor decision-making caused the majority of our first half attacks to break down, with little-to-no pressure on him on several. Schellas makes a LOT of bad in-game decisions (like allowing Benitez to take a PK), but this was not one of them. Brek's been invisible the last few games now, last night he went from invisible to an outright detriment. He needs to be kept away from the media until he starts playing up to his hype. On the PK, why the hell isn't Sealy taking that? Against your old team, that you have something to prove against, and you're the closest thing to a forward on the pitch, and you don't make even the slightest move to take the ball away? Ruben Luna would have not only snatched the ball up, he'd have scored it. Just saying.
