For real, nice to hear something positive since it seems so much of the recent news has seemed negative.

Yes but these whiny, crybaby, overpaid players usually get their way if they are desperate to leave. How happy would he be and how well will he play if he's not granted his wish

i don't think that's a problem with hugo. the whole thing is the money. spurs' offer doesn't cut it, and if it's OK to offload bastos or cissokho at a loss, it's out of the question not to get top dollar out of lloris. my guess is that he'll leave, but tottenham are going to have to cough up about 5 mil more than they're offering now.

I'm sorry but the situation at Lyon looks pretty poor these days. 7 million for Bastos. What the hell is that all about? How terrible of an influence on the team could he possibly be to warrant an 11 million euro loss on the player? This is because Aulas said all of those things about pharaohs and dinosaurs and now the players want out and will screw over the club if they have to.

What the hell. 7 million euros for Bastos??? Dare I say Aulas has lost the plot? lol. Don't know what to make of this, club just keeps getting weaker.

Well.... it could be up to 9 million with future payments. I'm having a hard time believing that Bastos would move to the Al Ain at this stage in his career though, even if he's looking to be on the next train out of Part-Dieu. Seems like he'd want to pick a place that at least gives him a chance to compete for a spot on Brazil's 2014 roster.

He's turning 29 in August, maybe he thinks the national team ship has sailed on his career, and now is just looking for a payday. Not many 31 year olds go the WC without have been a regualar for many many years.

I suppose that is true, it is an outside chance to begin with.

All I can think of is how clubs are always looking for bargins in foreign leagues and OL instead of that went for overpriced L1 players which is why only 7 m for Bastos looks bad. If EPL teams look for bargins in France then French teams should look for bargins in Greece, Romania, Switzerland, Holland, etc etc. etc

I hear Licha is linked with Rubin. I think they want the whole squad.

I guess that happens when a club thinks knows they can lowball another club because of their financial insecurity.

Anyone else watching the friendly v. Real Sociedad?

I'm pleased with what I'm seeing so far, there was just a nice 1-2 between Lisandro and Pied that created a chance, Gourcuff put it just wide.

lineup: Vercoutre - Dabo, B. Koné, Cris, Cissokho - Gonalons, Fofana - Pied, Gourcuff, Lacazette - Lisandro (cap).

Vercoutre had one really big save.

Gourcuff has just missed goal twice from distance and was very involved. Pied also stood out as playing well.

Missed the first 20 minutes of 2nd half since I had some actual work to get done, and unfortunately sometime during that time Real Sociedad got a goal.

    Current lineup is:
Vercoutre, Ferri, Umtiti, Fofana, Zeffane, Grenier, Reale, Ghezzal, Briand, Benzia, Gomis.

 How did that not go in? A great bit of build up, but it rolls off the post...

Moments later, 1-1, Briand goal. Gomis had beaten the defense on a great ball from Grenier and their goal keeper rushed out to beat him to it, he blocked it away, but only as far as Briand who calmly placed into the open net from ~30 yards out.

I'd love to have Greizmann at the club. But there is no way we have the money. (Though if Bastos leaves - which is likely, we need a replacement)

if Lyon was playing in the champions league then Greizmann would sign for Lyon
