Many of those guys were veterans and were on the last year of their contract. Many of them left after their contracts expired. Berlusconi will want to improve his political standing after taking a blow with selling Thiago Silva. Robinho, Pato and Boateng are all likely to stay after Ibrahimovic leaves. Gabriel is a third choice keeper. Kevin Constant isn't a starter and may not play much after Boateng and Emanuelson play. Milan is strong enough domestically and it's not advisable to simply write off the team. Milan needs Dzeko and a striker like him up front. Juventus isn't the place for him as they don't play the kind of formation he would thrive in. Arsenal already bought Giroud so I highly doubt that they'll be signing another striker. Giroud is Van Persie's replacement. Not Dzeko. And I forgot about Podolski. Even less chance of Dzeko going to Arsenal.
But most of those guys were part of a Milan team that has won 2 Serie A titles and made it to three CL finals in the last decade. It spells the end of an era for Milan and with inexperienced players like Constant and Acerbi coming in to the team along with the bad financial situation, it doesn't show Milan's ability to compete for the major titles this season and it'll more likely be a transitional season where Milan will just look to build towards the future. I don't know about the others here but I want Dzeko to play for a team that is going to compete for major titles while he is there and Milan doesn't seem to be the right destination for him right now. Dzeko also needs a good midfield and wingers to support him if he is to play his best football. He won't get that with Montolivo and Muntari playing behind him and no wingers in Milan's system. I bet he would do much better in Arsenal with wing support from Ox and Podolski or at Juventus with wing support from players like Pepe, Lichtsteiner, Isla, and Giovinco, for example. Actually, Dzeko would flourish in Juventus' system in my opinion. They have a good supporting cast in midfield with Pirlo and Asamoah in there, and they have several good wide players who can send in crosses for Edin to head. He would do very well in their 4-3-3/3-4-3/3-5-2 system in my opinion, Wolfsburg played something similar during his time there and look how that went. Giroud isn't van Persie's replacement, he replaced Bendtner and Chamakh in the team so he is the second choice striker instead which is understandable as those two were below average and didn't offer much to Arsenal. Dzeko to Arsenal is a heavily linked rumour these days because of RVP's possible departure, that's because he would be his replacement, not Giroud. Podolski will more than likely play at left wing at Arsenal anyways.
You're making a mistake. Our team isn't centered on Constant or Acerbi. And you're making big assumptions thinking we can't contest for titles. We won a scudetto the season prior to last, and were very close this last season despite a major injury crisis. We still have many promising and established players. I don't agree with you at all. And I thnk Dzeko would fit in well, especially with Cassano. By degrading our team and focusing way too much on two players, it shows you don't really know who plays for us. Constant, as I said, won't be a starter as he'll start after Boateng and Emanuelson. Allegri is also asking for a playmaker. Stop being so fixated on a single player as if it proves a point. Montolivo is actually a very good player who did very well in the Euro Cup. Dzeko doesn't need wingers. He needs a playmaker. But he won't go to Arsenal. They already bought Giroud. And he wouldn't do well at Juventus. Not buying it sorry. That's your opinion but not mine. He would flourish more uner Allegri's system and Allegri is demanding him over Tevez. We will see who comes. Not really. I don't think Arsenal will spend for Dzeko. Milan on the other hand is more linked to Dzeko at this point in time.
Dzeko needs wingers more than a playmaker, imo. He's deadly with headers. But, I wouldn't mind him at Milan. Imagine him and Pjaboy going at it.
Erm, I'm naming those two because they are the signings Milan have made so far. Clearly they were brought in to fill in some sort of the gap that is there from the players who left this summer. They are just promising players right now as many others in your squad are, part of why I say it's more than likely be a transitional year this season for Milan. Montolivo is a good player but he is nothing like what he used to be three or four years ago and he certainly isn't a trequartista who can compliment Dzeko's style. Dzeko needing playmakers more than wingers shows exactly how little you actually know about him and more about what you see in highlights or articles. That whole paragraph right there makes you come across as butthurt. Just because you want him so much at Milan and not at Juventus doesn't mean you need to come up with something like he wouldn't do well at Juventus where they have a system that fits his style but would do well at Milan where they don't even have wingplay. Get real. That's kind of what "in my opinion" means. No one said Arsenal will spend for him, but it is one of the heavier rumours spreading around about Dzeko these days like the Milan one. I'd prefer him to play for the Gunners right now though simply because their squad is better and more likely to challenge for trophies.
Not at all. Constant was signed as an interim replacement for Muntari who got injured for 6 months. Montolivo is not a stopgap. He's actually a very good signing and rated as one of the better ones so far (because of his quality and non-cost). Transitional? Debatable if we are in a transitional period at all, and that won't detract from other objectives. Actually I disagree. He's better then what he was 3 to 4 years ago. He's more an LCM and typically either played in the center or as an LCM. He has never played as a trequartista. I've seen Dzeko quite a bit actually. No. It just goes to show how very little you know about Milan. I'm not the one getting butt hurt here,e asides from the blatantly obvious agenda you have. Milan is a scudetto contender, regardless of Ibra and Silva's departure and it would be ridiculous to say otherwise. The system at Milan is more suitable to Dzeko, not that at Juve's. He isn't so one dimensional he only thrives on wingplay. If he did, he would have been doing better at Man City and he hasn't. I haven't seen "heavy rumors". I've only seen light ones. And Arsenal are notorious non-spenders... and the fact that they shoveled out that much for Giroud is indicative they won't spend much more. Their squad is better? Yeah right. A word of the wise... you could be a little less obvious in your agenda. Milan is going to purchase other players during the summer that will be more then suitable for Dzeko. Berlusconi has a certain election and he'll be pressured to spend (at least a great deal of the money made in transfers).
I wanna see Dzeko at Milan just because I think he himself would give much more effort in his favorite club. I think we would see a lot more from Dzeko in Milan, remember when he played against them with Wolfsburg now imagine him actually in Milan playing for the shirt.
I forget who, but there was a mediocre player (striker) that scored 15 out of sheer will because he was a Milanista. Imagine what Dzeko could do. Milan is his destiny, he'll end up there eventually.
@ Respekt, That's not the way to have a discussion with someone. You probably didn't mean it in a harmful way, but still.
I don't know where you guys think Respekt crossed the line but he completely blew out the other guys arguments. Minus the meme's... meme's are always funny tho. Can't blame him there. Dude Kolarov man really? Lmao hilarious. I like nutella very much.
Guys think of this. If Dzeko moves to either Milan or Juventus, then he will know five languages. Bosanski (born there, grew up there), Czech (his time at Teplice), German (his time at Wolfsburg), English (his time at Manchester City), and Italian ??? (time at possibly Milan or Juventus ???).
He blew away with my argument? Where exactly? Point out where? I think I know my favorite team more then he does. Just pathetic... I discuss the facts and then he cut and run because he thought I was writing too much.
lol Respekt! Respekt made some nice points that's for sure although he could tone it down a bit..In some of the posts it's almost as if he's basically trying to force the other guy(and you do it often ) to believe in his point...He has an opinion and it's different from yours...move on.
He absolutely didn't blow away any argument, ever. He also showed incredible disrespect towards the end of his argument, especially to someone that isn't a regular around here.
Yeppp, Respekt is always looking to argue about something. GiancarloC made better points, I fully agree.
The Dzeko video above, i like the part when he was asked about "oooh Edin Dzeko" song and he said he likes the song very much and Kolarov is smiling and thinking wtf? haha
