This is mid season. There was a good size crowd. Now is not the time to experiment. Why oh why did warzycha pull our 2 outside backs? Even more, if he wasn't going to use them, why put them on the bench? That was just stupid coaching. We completely lacked a midfield general. Not once did our center midfield put their foot on top of the ball and look both around for a decent pass. KC put on the pressure and out completely defensive minded midfield panicked. I saw a lot of panicked and hurried passing tonight.
If mendes and James and mirosevic were healthy it's a different story.
The most telling sign of warzycha's communist approach was when duka entered in the 60th minute. The game begged for him earlier. We completely lacked imagination on offense. We needed duka, but it had already been decided (by the polit bureau) that duka would play 30 minutes tonight and no more. Very unamerican.

and kind of played him up front, rather than meram.

I also liked how poor old Peterson was practically begging to come off before he even scored. Right, so we let a player who didn't even want to be out there "score the goal."

.....revelation. I have hope for this guy. Unfortunately, Falling Bull/Glass Bull/Event Horizon was.....

    I repped you.
Bonus for getting "Event Horizon" into a Crew Thread.
So we know that the scoring chances are destroyed at the singularity.
Is all information of said scoring chances also destroyed?...Susskind or Hawkin?
From here on out every event horizon is, to me Emilo Renteria

I don't think Duka is 100% when there was a break in action he went over to the bench got a drink and he squirted cold water on the back of his Leg.

    Why is Gehrig starting?

Fortunately for us, we didn't lose any ground to those around us tonight. MTL lost to Philly (who are now only 2 pts behind us, even on games), and NE lost as well, so we stay even with them on points with game in hand. Yes, I know the game in hand only matters if we can win.

    Things that bother me so:
Renteria - He seems to talk himself out of the game mentally by the 65th minute every game. His touch is horrible, and his mobility is non existent. At one point in the 2nd half, Birchall made a long ball pass to him, and it was short by about two yards thus being intercepted by a KC player. Instead of fighting for the ball, he screams at Arrieta who was 15 yds away.

Defense - We've let in 6 goals in the last 4 games. There were times tonight where we were defending purely by sheer will. I noticed at one point in the 1st half, we had three center backs and no right back because Williams drifted in. I noticed later in the second half that Anor had pushed up the right and was in the channel about 20 yds off the end line, Williams was in the penalty area on the right, Gehrig had the ball at his feet dribbling in their side of the field by about 10 yds, and it was only Marshall back. Then Birchall recognized and fell back. But we were so out of shape and balance it was ridiculous.

Movement - It continues to be non-existent. This is a hold over from last year. We have the ball, and there is nothing to do. We pass it back to the outside back who passed it diagonally to a center back who plays it long and we lose posession because Arrietta standing on Renteria's shoulders is still shorter than most center backs in the league.

At one point, Jardy tweeted that once we hit the 18th minute, Bernardo Anor DOUBLED his playing time at left back. Yes....let's go THAT route.

I would love to listen to Lapper and Bliss at a bar sometime.

I feel this is an unfair charge to level against RW when taking into consideration Duka's road to recovery and Arrieta's need to get match fit. If anything, I was expecting (or hoping) that Duka would come on for Arrieta and swap with Meram who was clearly not up to the task out wide tonight.

So Warzycha decides to switch out both outside backs and....

Anor gave away the ball around the 3 minute mark that turned into a 75 second KC attack. We finally get the ball back and Williams decides to pass it back to them, counter, goal. Then Anor gets a yellow barely a minute later. Williams has no idea how to play outside back after being a center back all season so he keeps passing the ball back to Gehrig and Chad. Quite a few times Birchall was open and the pass wasn't made. Ditto with Arrieta showing. And we kept insisting on passing the ball to Williams for most of the first half. And for the icing on the cake, Anor gives the ball away late, counter, goal.

What a wonderful coach we have.

It should have been Duka for Arrieta at 45'. Nothing against Arrieta. Duka for Arrieta, slide Meram up front, and Tchani out wide. Then let Duka do his thing. The game changed for a bit for us when he came on.

    EDIT
I apparently missed this.... at what point did Nordecke start the "Sack Warzycha" chant? I wish I'd heard it. I probably had my head in my hands.

Yes in fact, he had a rare, delightful first touch to spin away from the close-marking Collin around 70' to create a yard of space for a chance on his favored foot. He wasted it. But it won't be remembered in the minds of most (and who can blame them) because of his antics. He is that threshold, where our attacks go to die. Yes everything seems normal here. There he is, putting himself about. Brick shithouse, isn't he? How do you say brick shithouse in Spanish?

I dubbed him Event Horizon. I was mainly thinking of Ed Neill. Hell, Ed Neill would've scored a hat trick for us tonight. Welcome to Jurassic Park.

    So funny joke time:

    Ok here it goes... ready?

Remember when Toronto was losing all of those games and it was really funny. Well they're bottom of the table still and we have two game on hand against them. That's all well and good but here comes the punch line they're only six points that's right SIX points back from us now.

Ok I've got another one. So remember how I just told you we were SIX points from the bottom of the table? Ok ok ok we're 14 out of first place in the east alone 16 point in the over all table. That's right we're closer to dead last in the league than we are to the first place team in our conference.

Yeah let's just keep doing what we're doing.

I was ok with RW subbing in Vargas for Williams when Williams went down and called for a sub, still lose whether it'd by 1 or more. Only issue was that 1 of the 3 defenders left on the field was Anor...so we really only had 2 defenders. Also didn't help that Anor just pissed the ball away at midfield...again. Hey Bernardo- you are the defense now, you don't have them behind you to bail out your loss of possession anymore.

RW decided that the defense has been playing too well and he needed to screw that up too.

See, TFC fans? If you're not dicks, we CAN actually all get along. :) (And actually, not that we wanted to be dicks, but if you ACT like a dick, expect our police officers to respond in kind. Still, case in point, tonight.)

There was a lot of confusion as the starting lineups were announced. Plenty of puzzled faces.

I understand benching underperforming players. But like so many have said, you don't bench the 3/4 of your defense. And if this is really the case, how on earth is Renteria still starting? He is awful.

Great crowed watched crap. Pretty sure the sack Warzycha chants started after the second goal. It's only a matter of time now. It's amazing how so many here can see what a coach can't. Sometimes I wonder if he is even trying to win games.

Normally after a loss like this, I'm super angry and proceed to tell how our entire team sucks; each and every one of them (think Major League). Now, though, it's just a sad resignation that we're just not good enough. Even with a coaching change, I still wouldn't put us at much better than above average.

Ideally, if our midfield was healthy, we wouldn't have to see Birchall (who I thought was solid enough tonight) or Tchani. I'd love to see Duka--DOR--Milo--Gaven, but the odds of all of our players being healthy at the same time seem to be nonexistent on this team.

We don't have a clue what we're doing in the attack, we don't move off the ball, and our coaching staff routinely puts players in a position where they aren't as likely to succeed. We're screwed.

    Dumpster fire of a night!

At half-time, I looked at those players and ever Polska Bob walking back to the locker room and well, it was pathetic. Even Private Pyle would have had more chin-up than what I noticed. Their postures were just like, oh well, okie dokie. Nothing suggested to me that they wore a vibe of confidence that they could come back and get a result.

-Poor Arrieta, he has walked into a world of shit. I scratched my head when he was subbed off.
-Duka added a bit of hope, but you can't win matches with hope alone. Need goals. And did he just convert to Buddhism or something? He reminded me of kids in the hood we used to call Peanut.
-Who knows, with the amount of complaining Renteria does to the USSF sewage, maybe they will literally force him to leave MLS:cautious:
-If RW knows what is best for his soul and character, he will leave before the next match. It's just not working and he's shaming himself. You served your team respectively as a player, but as a coach, you should just leave our club.

Renteria doesn't work well with others. Renteria receives the ball losses it, passes it backwards, or flops down. Renteria does not pass to his other forwards. I would like to see him gone.

Meram is not anything but a striker. His first touch is awful and lacks the connectivity and runs to get anything going on the side line. His crosses (which are VERY few) are bad.

I think Andy is a great back-up. He is still too inconsistent. One game he might make 4-5 saves and the next 3 he doesn't touch the ball. Would like to see a new starter, but we don't have any.

Thank the soccer gods for Gavin and Duka.

The midfield is a mess and I blame the coach. He should be gone.
