got you... though with AVB I'd venture to say his path is harder now. AVB didn't even feature Ryan Bertrand when he was in charge. can't see Zeki getting many games. then again, why go after him if not for playing? young and English?

Maybe it was a technical director signing, if they have one of those.

Why did a prem team take a chance on him then? But they do take chances on loads of British talent, not worth the wages not disagreeing there.

I think Spurs are doing it because of him being young and British, exactly that. They have guys like Kyle Walker, Danny Rose, Jake Livermore, even Bostock.

Because they're blind/haven't seen him play/aren't good judges of talent?

Well we know it isn't that they are bad judges of talent.

so are there any hopefuls from the youth team left who are not with <12 months left on deals/heading out the exit door that might make it here?

John Cofie loaned to Sheffield United. He had a good season when he was with the U18's a couple of years ago but has fallen off the radar. Maybe this loan would do him good, he also played for Antwerp on loan last season.

Speaking of reserve strikers...who's going to be the main Reserve striker now that Will Keane is out for so long?

The thing is that we have no one in the academy either (taking Keane out) and the faux strikers like Lingard are moving on loan hopefully. That will leave more room to promote U18's to play in the reserves.

For the past few weeks I have heard nothing on Petrucci going to the Tour or going on loan or anything.

Tom Lawrence will feature as a striker. maybe promote James Wilson?

have to assume Josh King will go on loan again.

Who needs strikers? We are going to play a 4-6-0

    Why?

It's not like that's going to prepare them for the first team.

Phelan won't be there to curtail them in a few years.

Blade here visiting your good board. What kind of striker are we looking at here? Anyone seen him in action? Clearly we have a hole up front after the events of last season, we have poachers but we need an incisive finisher with some technical ability, and a hint of pace would be nice.

Would make a Green Mile joke but I guess anyone familiar with your youth team has exhausted that one.

He is in Kenwyne Jones mould, quite pacy and strong, not the greatest finishers but decent technical ability, can have off days, on his day would run opponent ragged because of his power and pace.

And I think you can buy him full time if you promote and he does decently enough.

Sounds alright, I imagine he'll get some game time. We can only really pick up frees and loans at the moment.
