Good news is the Flash did better against the Xolos than Boca did. Bad news is the Flash still lost 6-1.
Couldn't make it down. Traffic on 805, work and my wife scared me away. Hopefully it was a good game but I haven't seen anything in the main paper yet. Not that we'd be able to read it. The damn UT has put all their news articles behind a pay wall now. And I'm not going to pay Doug Manchester for his half assed online newspaper. However there is an article in the SD Red section. Looks like nearly 200 people showed up despite the lack of amenities/stands/food, etc... And yes the Xolos played their starters for nearly 80 minutes (so longer than they did against both Boca and Club America). Apparently the Xolos were very complimentary about the Flash.
It's a great article, and definitely great to see the amount of respect between the two clubs. I wish I'd been able to go, I would have dragged roommates and the girlfriend, maybe topped the 200 mark
I got a half price flyer for tomorrow's game if anyone wants one, just shoot an email though I'm sure some of you got one already
Outlaws? Also can you send me one of those flyers? My wife isn't around this weekend to call me for a pickup near game time (thank you Comic-Con!)
Outlaws San Diego, part of the american outlaws(US soccer supporter group), you've heard of the US soccer bar in SD run by Tom Nickel, we'll he's head of the outlaws group in SD and he sends out emails and stuff I wish I can just upload it to a post but it says it goes over the limit, I don't actually see an email on your profile nor on mine so just send me your email in a pm
They're usually posted over the urinals in O'Brien's too... That's where... some people... see them...
No shame in looking at the walls at O'Brien's. They have a great beer selection, and with great beer comes lots of trips to the head. And no bathroom walls are as informative with information someone might actually want to know than O'Brien's. Far better than seeing phone numbers from guys looking for fun or gang tags.
I'd say they have a "San Diego" beer selection, in that those of us from Texas who just want a decent lager can't get anything less than 99% hops And as for the fun numbers... Gotta keep an open mind!http://picchore.com/comics/i-guess-you-just-never-know/
Second year in a row the Flash exit the playoffs in the first round. This time they at least made it to PK's. But the result was the same with the Flash falling to the Sonoma County Sol 2-2 (3-5 PK's). They had a great season until the last two weeks. The same team just didn't show up tonight. The Flash looked discombobulated missing kicks, passing to directly to opposing players, and frankly I think they underestimated their opponent. The Sol, despite only bringing 12 men with them total, played a more composed game and were killing the Flash on one on one challenges either flat out stealing the ball from them or muscling the Flash players out of the way. Also not an excuse for the Flash's loss, but the officiating tonight was lower than dismal. Particularly the offsides calls.
bro that's the npsl, I've yet to see a good officiating game where they get more than 60% of the calls right I've seen this type of flash every once in a while, more so in the first half cause by the second they are more focused and are usually kicking up the gears well at least I can still root for the californian teams that are in it
http://www.facebook.com/SDFlashSoccer Clent Alexander met with "one of the mayoral candidates" (doesn't say which one) to discuss ways to help the soccer community in San Diego. First of all, why doesn't it mention which mayoral candidate? I would also argue for an SSS, but I know how tough it would be to get taxpayers to approve it.
I did some Googling... Turns out it was Filner back on Monday. http://www.facebook.com/FlashSoccerCEO
lol indeed. For those too lazy to click on the link, all it says is that he met with Bob Filner, it went well, and he thinks Filner is interested in supporting the San Diego soccer community. Which I believe in CEO speak means "we met, he wasn't a jerk," and in politician speak means "I told some registered voters I like them."
