Just wondering, of those of you that actually play soccer - how many of you record your own stats?

And if you do, what stats do you record and how?

Does this mean you guys and girls don't keep a track of your stats (games played, results, goals, assists etc)?

I did when I started coaching, not as a player.

I used a book that was pretty much like a baseball statistic book. Could buy the book at my local soccer store.

I made the book read about the stats that mattered to me. I some respects it is like art.

    Kept minutes each player played.

Goals of cource, assists no secondary assists like the MLS keeps, Corner kicks that is an important stat to me because if you get a lot of them. Your putting a lot of offensive pressure on the opponents defense. Keeper saves.

Then would make notes on each practice and each game played.

Plus I would rate each player on their performance. 5 was the best never gave out any 5s. 1 was the worst if someone got a 1 their days with the team would be numbered.

Who scored for the opponent if any one of them scored on us.

We supply many teams in the UK from grassroots to professionals with a soccer statistical analysis app on iTunes and Android. It's called The Master Tactician and on it you can plan your team's set plays, training routines and record game stats. It also allows you to export the stats so you can record them over the whole season. Give it a look. TMT
