The Guardian, about Liverpool's Brendan Rodgers: Also: And Cameron is the second best paid player on the Dynamo.
From Seltzer: Liverpool are interested, but they are not alone. Nothing is imminent and the UK tabloids are getting ahead of themselves.
Liverpool does have an EL birth next year if I am not mistaken, so while he would not get to play in the CL next year he would have a chance to play for the super cup. Liverpool is also putting together a good squad so it wouldnt be terrible.
Dempsey is not going anywhere for 17 million pounds. In fact I cannot find the article quoted below, do you have a link?
I would love to see more US players in the Bundesliga, and I think Clint would be a great fit, although I'm sure he's happy at Fulham... But now there's this talk of him transferring... Any word on the likelihood?
Is it pretty much a done deal or is this all still (well-educated) speculation? I haven't seen anything definitive.
This is not about Clint. Last year LFC had trouble scoring goals. If Clint is signed, he will be expected to score goals. So people are (understandably, IMO) concerned that he's only had one (maybe two) great goalscoring seasons. If you asked most LFC fans would they take Clint for free I bet an overwhelming majority would say yes. He would definitely improve the squad. I doubt most question that. But signing a 29 year old (will turn 30 during season) that maybe has a few seasons left in him and no sell-on value for big money is (understandably, IMO) alarming to some.

Good chance it could happen 2013-2014 season. http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/premier-league/winner http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/premier-league/top-4-finish
By those odds that would probably have it at around 29%. I'm not sure I'd qualify those as "good." Manchester City has caused a Champions League problem for Liverpool that they have shown no signs of solving in the near term.
I don't know where he is going but fulham appear to be stocking up on two positions he fills. Midfielder who attacks and striker.
Stocking up? They've signed a striker and a RB. Still a lot of work to be done in light of this summers outgoings.
Fulham have hardly taken any overt steps to replace him at all. Petric maybe, but I'm not sure that he's even going to be a starter for Fulham. The other signing is a utility guy who can play in midfield and defense. I doubt Fulham would take any steps to replace either of the Dems without first having sold them. Those kinds of replacements are very costly and Fulham wouldn't afford themselves the luxury of having a high wage player sitting the bench - just in case a sale didn't go thru.
Rodaellga or however you spell his name. And one of the Bolton Davis's. More to come. If you combined them you get a kind of dempsey, no?
Since this tangentially relevant, it appears Rodgers has decided against having Andy Carroll in his plans. It could all be nonsense, but what does that say about LFC direction? He is all over Suarez, wants his former Italian workhorse from Swansea and potentially Dempsey. Means he is going to run out a 4-3-3 with at least 4 attacking players. He doesnt want any player who is not comfortable with combination play, the ball at his feet while on the move. For all the nonsense about LFC fans and supporters and blah blah, that sounds like dream job for Dempsey, CL or not. It puts him in the big time, in the right system with a sound team around him. The fact is we don't know how good Dempsey can be. We've seen him light it up with the likes of Bobby the animal Zamora, Andy Johnson, and Progs as a striker in front. What happens when you put a guy like Suarez who can pass, shoot, create?
Well, they need to be signed first. It's all rumors until you see a non-Photoshopped photo on the club website. I see what you're getting at though. Rodallega would be a good signing for us. Cheap b/c he's just had a down year, but talented enough to have been considered just a couple of seasons ago by the clubs that now seem to be considering Clint.
