Also, did Wondo end up trading shirts? Looked like Donovan changed his mind, which i hope he didn't because it would really lower my thinking of him.

Another cool stat from that page is that 40% of Wondo's goals have been game-winning goals, by far the highest GWG% of MLS top scorers.

Nice. And he's already tied for 10th in GWGs.

It looks like Donovan was about to trade shirts but then saw Beck's postgame meltdown and rushed over to intercede.

Robert Jonas tweeted that Wondo and Donovan did trade shirts.

For some reason, the prevailing "wisdom" on the Nats boards seems to be: "He's good in MLS, but incapable of doing well on a larger stage".

    Morons....

That's what I interpreted, too. Don't think Donovan was being a bad sport, he was about to take his shirt off and then when off to deal with the Beckham situation.

Well Klinsmann doesn't seem to care about the bigsoccer boards, I think he's been giving Wondolowski pretty fair looks. I think Wondo should have gotten a start against Panama, but he's definitely not being ignored by the national team which is good.

Backheel VOLLEY at that, I don't think they should bother having a GOTW vote.

It doesn't help that the USA midfield is pretty weak. You can't score when you don't get opportunities. But I am surprised Klinsmann didn't give Wondo more looks during those friendlies. He was an attacking player and he doesn't seem to understand a true marksman when he sees one. Of course, being a good player and a good coach are two different things and I suspect Klinsmann will never be able to match the success he had on the field, which is too bad for the US.

I hope for Wondo's sake that he at least scores but I just think the national team is such a different picture. To me, Wondo has the body of a midfielder with a striker's finish. IMHO that makes him less of a fit especially in a team that may play a single striker. I think that to get proper use out of him, you'd need to play him almost 90 minutes, which Klinsmann probably won't do.

Basically, I think he may be one of the guys that has been called up on merit and probably training. It really would be a sad thing for a person who has had his MLS success not to be given a chance. However, if everyone is pushing up against a concacaf team, he should get a few goals.

The amazing thing about Wondo is that he's winning player of the month and being mentioned as a potential MVP of the league, and yet I don't think he's played all that well this year, for him. If he really gets hot like he was in 2010, look out.

He'd have to slow down to match his 2010 scoring rate.

True, but I felt that he did better with his chances in 2010 (plus he didn't start the first several games of the season IIRC). It's not so much heating up in terms of pure scoring rate but in quality of play. IMO both this year and last, his finishing has been just pretty good but not great. In 2010 it was great.
