I dunno! I should be a good game of managers here,Vicente del Bosque and Cesare Prandelli. Prandelli's Italy seem able to work their tactics to the game in hand and players available. While Spain plays like...well Spain. Can and will del Bosque work his team to play the Ities or is he stuck in his rut. A lot like Barca this past season, now other teams have read the book on them? I'm looking forward to it and betting the house on Italy.....or maybe just the garden shed...
I like how Spain press the ball really high up the pitch. As opposed to when we played when we had no pressing whatsoever as our front 2 had zero work rate when we didnt have the ball .
It took until extra time against Portugal for the real Spain to turn up and the bad news for Italy is they're still here. This could get ugly.
Strange decision to appoint a Portugese referee, aren't they huge rivals (Spain), like a Jock refereeing England? Vacate the garden shed Scouse...
I wouldn't be against them hitting 5. I reckon this Spain team has to go down as possibly the best team ever.
England will now be ranked 4th in the next FIFA rankings after Italy's loss. Three cheers to all involved. Hip hip
italy were clearly knackered and when the emrcenary did his hamstring it was goodnight spain are easily the best international side of all time, just like barca are the best club team of all time
They're talking bollox on UK TV, saying no-one outstanding, can't see far past Xavi Hernandez myself, closely followed by Iniesta...
all of spains team was excellent, busquets is a bit of an unsung hero, slotting in the spaces the more creative mids take up....silva/cesc/iniestas movement was insane!
Good game wasn't it? Both teams came out to play. Spain had the better of it but Italy were still in until the 60 something minute. Then down to ten men and the game was over. HUGE! influence on the team by the players who honed their game at Anfield.... add in a golden boot there. All baby judas got last season was his 30 pieces of silver.
This tournament had the highest quality of teams I've ever seen in the last 4 of either a Euro's or WC. Sometimes teams dominate weak era's but not this Spain, they are just special.
For most of the season Torres had some terrible misses (including the infamous miss at Old Trafford) . But he ends the season with one of the best trophy hauls in the history of the game. Crazy!
That was me. Still feel Italy were more likely to get behind England than Spain (mainly because of Pirlo's deep passing range), and this was the point. My opinion doesn't change after the game last night - it was clear before the tournament started that Spain are the best team in the world.
