    ARCH BELL. 04/05/12 NEW YORK - 22:53.imprimeenvía10
The player of FC Dallas, Brek Shea, has become a star in MLS and the U.S. team. Such is his reputation that is already rumored to their future in other leagues. Although there have been many Americans in the history of the Liga, Shea believes he could be successful playing in Spain."I am one who likes facing challenges," said Shea MARCA.com and sprinkles "I like the League. Even without the skills or the quality of those players, I think I can improve my game to be at that level. "
Shea, with only 22 years old, born in College Station (Texas) and has been playing four years with all Texan. Undoubtedly, this midfielder is the leader of his team acting wheel but has also played in defensive positions and even as a striker. "It's beneficial to have played many games in MLS," said Shea. "The players are fast and is a more physical football. I've grown a lot as a player playing in this league. "
He also has experience in a European territory. He was in London a few weeks training with Arsenal, Arsene Wenger's orders, before the MLS preseason. It was an idea of the U.S. coach, Jurgen Klinsmann, that Shea could have the experience of how things are going in Europe. "For me it was amazing to have the opportunity to train with Arsenal," he stresses. "I learned a lot when I was there. Wenger is a great coach. I have wanted to play in that kind of environment. "
His style of play leads to comparisons with another Texan, Clint Dempsey, Fulham star. They are two players who share the same attitude in the field. That is, they are willing to try anything in the field and fear nothing. "I think we have the same struggle inside," he adds. "When people doubt me, I like to prove that wrong. Clint is like that. "
Like Dempsey, Shea also spent his youth playing with many Hispanics in Texas, most of them Mexican immigrants. Shea, tall, blond and white, was a figure that is often seen playing in the Mexican neighborhoods in the town of his youth, Bryan (Texas). "There is a large population of Hispanics in Bryan and I had many Mexican friends" he recalls. "I played with my friends in the Mexican leagues during the week and the highest on the weekends. That experience was very important and helped me a lot. "
Shea has already worn the shirt of the United States, noting in a friendly against Mexico last summer. The match ended 1-1 and was his assistance in the goal from Robbie Rogers assumed the tie. It appears that Shea has earned the trust of his coach and it appears you can enter Klinsmann plans for a World Cup 2014. "It was phenomenal play Jurgen orders. It was a great player and has a lot to share with us. I said I have the potential to be a great player and I am very excited, "he concludes.

MLS / Andy Najar, 19 YEARS, EUROPE DESTINATIONThe adolescent passage of a starHonduran people grew beside a soccer fieldAt 13 he spent two weeks traveling to reach the United States illegally to join their parentsIt has become the pearl of the team in Washington and points to EuropeARCH BELL 17/05/12 - 19:04.imprimeenvía17
Not even Hollywood could create a story so original and Andy Najar. Born in a remote village in Honduras, Najar, a 19 year old midfielder, has become a football star with his team in Washington, DC United, and also with the Honduran National Team.
To better understand who is Najar, one must know this player since his youth. He grew up in Santa Cruz de Marcovia, a village far from the beaches and tourist areas of Honduras, where Najar played in a field beside his house. In 2002 his parents moved to America to find work while Andy stayed with his grandmother in Honduras.
In 2007, he left Honduras to meet with his parents in Alexandria, Virginia. Accompanied by a 'pin', Najar crossed the border illegally between the U.S. and Mexico, where he had to endure two days on foot through the deserts of Mexico and Texas. Days later, made it to Alexandria where he met his parents for the first time in five years.
    Professional contract at 17
Two years later, she auditioned with DC United Academy and was signed for the club. Then in 2010, Najar signed his first professional contract with the first team and was rookie of the year in MLS in the 2010 season.
At 19 years, Najar feels like a veteran team. We were at the DC United locker room after a game in Houston against the Dynamo and, despite the defeat of his team, was optimistic about the season.
"This is my third year and I have more responsibility in the team," said Najar to MARCA.com. "There are players with great experience and high class. We must improve to reach the top."
The talent and quality of Honduran wheel has already caught the attention of the world. It seems not a question of whether it will go to Europe to play, but the time scale. For now, Najar says he is happy playing Ben Olsen orders, coach of DC United.
"I am happy and delighted with all the people who support me and the coach has given me the opportunity to play," said Honduran.
But Andy Najar already has a European experience. He spent two weeks in London, training with Tottenham. After last season, he moved to England where he received an apprenticeship at a high level.
"It was a great opportunity to go to London," says Najar. "It's another world. I think it's another level. I loved that feeling. I hope in the future me another opportunity arises to travel again," settled.
    ¿Rival Spain in the Olympics?
Najar is likely to have the opportunity to return to London this summer, this time with the Honduran U-23 selection for the Olympic Games in July. 'The Catrachos' will be one of the rivals of Spain in Group D and aspires to go far in the competition.
"This is a good time and is an excellent group," said Najar. "I think there is much competition for a spot. Just have to train hard and show the 'professional' I am able to earn a spot on the team."
It is unclear if Najar is in the plans of Luis Fernandez Suarez, coach of Honduras to the playoffs to be played in June. Honduras and Cuba will face Canada in two key parties to secure a place in the last round of qualifiers for Brazil 2014.
"I'm working hard to return to the team. The CONCACAF qualifiers are complicated. We hope to earn a spot in the World Cup. Hope the team has a good mentality to approach the World Cup. We know it will be tough matches to qualify and leave it everything on the court, "he concluded.

Here's one from France last week: http://www.sport24.com/football/championnats-etrangers/actualites/mls-le-reve-americain-554183

It sucks. It's an article about how MLS is a retirement league.

The author notes at the beginning that MLS has growing attendance, but that the league's stars are unknown (specifically league MVPs, outside of Valderamma and Donovan). And so, MLS has to import stars from Europe, I guess.

If you look through most French sport websites, any articles relating to MLS are about Henry or Beckham, or transfer rumors of European players possibly moving to MLS. You'll occasionally find notes about other French players, like Hassli and Le Toux. I found one site that had video of Hassli's golazo volley from the Canadian Cup earlier this week. But even that article had a snarky note about how Hassli averaged a goal per season when he played for Metz in the early 2000's, but had 10 goals last year in MLS.

MLS / LEADER 'SPIRIT' OF KANSAS CITY
Julius Caesar: "Here the coach listens to me"
"This championship is a very young and lacks tradition. Lack of football culture"
    DAVID RUIZ 25/06/12 - 19:31.
    imprimeenvía
    25

After going around the globe and test the league of 11 countries (Spain, Honduras, Italy, Portugal, Austria, England, Mexico, Greece, Romania, Turkey and Portugal), Julio Cesar Santos Correia (Sao Luis Maranhao, 1978) embarked on the adventure of captaining the rebuilding of a franchise in the emerging middling MLS: Sporting Kansas City. A year later, the former central Real Madrid, Real Sociedad and Valladolid acts as spiritual leader in the revelation of the League squad Yankee (nine wins, two draws and three losses after 14 rounds played) playing ... midfield.

    - What very nearly equal the record of eight straight wins Galaxy ...
    - Yes, a shame. They had won eight straight games in 96, but the league only had 12 teams. Now there are 19. Ours has much more merit. We had it in hand after seven victories. People just talked about it, but ultimately could not be. It's okay. The most important thing is that we in the top of the league. That's what really counts. Soon be up and ensure the playoffs.

"This team is formed by a group of hard workers born"
    - What is the secret of this Sporting KC that has revolutionized the MLS?
'Very simple: because the technician listens to me now (laughs). No, seriously. Since last year, when I got here, we were toying with the idea of breaking the mold tactical MLS when playing. All teams play a 4-4-2. As we are a new team and, therefore, under construction, I said to Peter (Vermes, coach) that we will set up our own game system. We do not have cracks, so there was consensus among everyone, including the coach, which indeed has worked well. The fact is that we now have a pattern of play, an idea and a proprietary system (4-2-3-1), and everything is going well. In fact, we are the team does best things that has a better idea of how to operate on the lawn. And if you do not believe me, there are the results.

    - Last year had star Omar Bravo, another former League, but did not do well.
'It was not their problem, but the dynamic that has this working group, because, after all, that's what we are Sporting KC: a group of hard workers born. Omar played on the left edge, running all the time, and that killed him. The type was sacrificed for the sake of the team, but I think he left because he was not comfortable with what he did. This year has been Bobby Convey, a 'bull', a player with guts and strength, a born fighter, who does very good work we need. As I said before, the structure of the game that we do not need any crack to come and sort things out. Also, if you come to change the system, and now attack and defend all together. It would start again from scratch.

    - And you've spent behind the axis of the double pivot. Why is there this late evolution?
    - Is that if I play here on defense, you tell me to see who thinks for the team (laughs). We conclude that it was best to play in front of the defense. Last year, when we attacked, he did around the world, and nobody argued. We looked like Indians! So we changed the system to a line of three defenders and two sides. I'm kind of sweeper ahead of the two plants, so that the team is now much more balanced. The results speak for themselves. We almost did not make goals.

    - You who have played football in the middle world, had done before so many miles to play a local tournament?
    - The truth is no. This is like playing a Champions. Distances are three or four hours minimum, and sometimes more. It's like going from Madrid to Kiev, for example. And so all trips, but that's what the League proposed. I hope that within four years and have private jets, such as basketball, and have a little more time to rest. Although for me the most wear is not physical, but psychological, because I know my body and I know I can not risk a game every three days. In that sense, there is good coordination with the technicians. We talked and decided the best for everyone, starting with the player.

"Last year was attacking everyone and no one argued. Looked like Indians!"
    - In addition to the level of play, is there any other noticeable difference between the MLS and European football?
    - This is a championship very young and, therefore, no tradition, which for me is essential in this football. If you do, you know what you play, you know why and know the ways how. Here there is all that. Lack of football culture, that children can have the same ambition or dream of being a football player as with the basketball or football. It is a pity because they have the best facilities to work, but lack the knowledge, experience and such.

    - What contribution to the championship are doing people like Beckham, Henry or Márquez?
    - The level football has grown thanks to them, that's for sure. They realized that something was wrong and changed his philosophy. Before they hired many people from the Caribbean, Central or South American players unknown, without belittling, did not help too much to the growth of the League. The problem was that tactically they had a good school and therefore could not tell people here how to do things. Now, experienced people like Henry, Becks, Angel or Julius Caesar, we are helping to build something from scratch. That causes them to grow and follow your idea.

    - So, the key to the success of 'soccer' a continued importing European star ...
To a large extent, yes. And when they are ready, you are quite clear. In addition, we are at an ideal time to continue growing at a rapid pace because there is a crisis in Europe and that makes it easy to bring players who now have interest in coming to America and take part in this tournament. People like Ballack, Zambrotta, Ferrari, Del Piero ... Players now can not pay there what they want, so you are encouraged to come because the salaries are attractive. In return, your experience can help a lot.

    - They have nine wins from 15, where is the roof of your team?
    - At the top (laughs). I want to be champion and I think you can give. A number of teams, like Salt Lake, Seattle, Galaxy or Red Bulls, who have much money and not going to settle for reaching the playoff. I think the title is going to play five or six teams, which I think we'll be us. Last year we worked very hard, we created a good structure and is an established idea in the club to go far. The fans are convinced that football is a good attraction and bought that idea. They came, they liked it and now we fill the stadium every game. If we add all that, how come there.

"The level of the MLS has grown thanks to Beckham, Henry or Márquez"
    - And again, the quarry is beginning to bear fruit.
Why I said it to build a base. Right now we have a couple of youngsters in the team, Sapong and Bunbury, which raise the level well. They are really good and with plenty of room for growth. But they are not alone. Little by little, new qualities and kids going to work, because the natural forces already have it.

    - This is his second year in Kansas City, did you ever see back in Spain?
In the short term, I doubt it. As I said before, in America there is much to look forward and also I have my trainer card, which I took last year, so I think I will here. I liked their idea, their project, and the purchasing power they have, because you ride a stadium in a year. They are very strong. So help the growth of 'soccer' is a very nice challenge.

Exactly. It would be great if the league could find a way keep former DPs involved in the league. I saw where GBS has taken on a head coaching job in Argentina...I'd love to see him come back one day and coach an MLS side.
