Sub in Henry for Miller and slip Lade back to LB and slide Joel to Lmid.

credit to Marquez for starting it. Medhi and Joel for their good balls to follow. Hell of a save by Hamid too.

I will give him that, he is playing well today. Him and Pearce can pass the ball..

Someone needs to post the clip of Heath Pearce dropping Danny Cruz. That was awesom.

He was offside on the pass. But Marquez needs to be a bit quicker to push up either way

Great win. Anytime you beat DC at home to get a share of the lead in the conference with them is a very good day. We have a game in hand on DC and KC has a game in hand on us.

Minute 1 was terrible. It was like the whole team wasn't ready to play. A terrible ball played to Miller who couldn't do anything with it and then he was caught out of position and the rest is history.

But from minute 2 to just past when we scored the third goal was some of the best soccer we played all season. And with another makeshift lineup. This team has shown great ability to adjust with players playing in different spots along the field. We dominated possession during that stretch and has so many chances and did well to score three goals. Really impressive stuff.

The last 25 minutes or so was shaky. We were unlucky that the offside goal wasn't called but we still should've defended better. We were on our heels but that's to be expected when protecting a lead. In the end they showed some guts and resiliency and pulled out the result.

Two guys who we've shit on a lot should get a lot of credit today. Marquez (who I still can't stand) played ok, at least better than what he did early in this season which is still not saying much. He should stay the hell away from set pieces thoguh. Mehdi Ballouchy also had a hell of a game. He has been very good this season. Much better than the crap we have seen from him in the past. He is still inconsistent but he has shown to be an important player this year. He certainly adds to our depth.

Also a lot of praise needs to go to Barklage. 2 great goals and some great defending. What a story he has been. He is a big part of our defense and he deserves a lot of praise for adjusting to a new position and playing so well.

Big 3 points that we really needed. This performance was night and day compared to last week vs. Chicago. Great win especially considering the tough point we got out in Vancouver followed by all that travel. Now we have Henry getting healthy and presumably good to go for the start next week. Hopefully Conde is good to go next week. And with Marquez we have tons of options. We should feel positive about this team.

Yeah I hope that was just a case of tired legs. We could have done a lot better in closing out the game and hopefully they do that better in the future.

I told you that was a good idea and the only alternative if Backe bring Rafa to the CB again and play McCarty as destroyer and everything will be a OK...... If Backe continue with that back line of:
    Barklage....Marquez....Conde....Pearce
I will repeat, will be one the best defense line if not the best on the league, and we can win a lot of game, we only can hope that Backe don't make the stupid move and change everything again....

As long as Daxman is our def mid and Statue sits we will look solid no matter who else we place back there other than Miller at LB.

That is one hell of a back line...but you know Backe will play the Statue if he can!

Ag, do you find it strange that writers covering the Red Bulls never question Clueless Hans about this?

I hope Backe realise the true and keep Holgerslush and Miller out of the start line-up, the line up of:
    Barklage....Marquez....Conde....Pearce
Is the best Backe can put in place and at the same time help the Midfielder Line playing McCarty in his right position and Lindpere rooming the Center Field, also is a necessity to keep playing Lade at LW he with his "mosquito" tenacity open a chance for attacks, that Richards, Miller or Solli never will....

Need to keep Holgersson and Miller away. Marquez was alright, but still don't want him around. Thought we were going to give up a late goal. Still a bunch of empty seats, but the best turn out in a long time.

Not sure what got into Mehdi, but that was his best performance ever as a starter for us. I think Hans finally saw the light regarding Roy. It's rare you sub out a defender with a lead. There might, might be the slightest chance he doesn't start next week!

I thought they were critical of him early in the season, yes?

Since then he's played much better. Still don't completely trust him though. He's what Roy Miller USED to be for me. A decent MLS player who will help you get through the grind of the season, but a guy who can crap the bed in a Cup game.

I say "USED to" for Miller because IMO he's gone from "decent MLS guy" to "not a very good player."
