GBS has taken up his first managerial position at Argentinian Primera Division club Lanus.

Bob breathes a sigh of relief...for now. ;)

Good for him. Now I worry that the timing will be ********ed for eternity to get him back here.

Lanus is a serious club, a rarity in Argentina, he will have time to work and build a squad that has very talented players.

Don't surprised if a American gets on Lanus roster soon... Chad Marshall! Guille wanted to bring him to Gimnasia.

With Chad's concussion history, I doubt he's looking to pack his bags to a foreign country. In fact, he *might* be looking at the end of his career sooner than we all think.

If Guille ends up being successful as a manager, there is always a chance he will return to the Crew. Here's hoping.

RW may have just breathed a huge sigh of relief, but you know who's sporting a chubby right now with this news?

It's much nicer in Argentina than it is in Leeds?

And? It's much nicer in Hawaii than it is in Cleveland, too. What's your point?

Just because GBS suddenly has a coaching job doesn't mean he suddenly became stupid. If he were to bring in Robbie Rogers, I'd look at that as Exhibit A why he isn't coaching material.

Is reading comprehension even taught anymore these days?

Well excuse the hell out of me. If that wasn't what you were getting at, what's the explanation for why RR would get a "chubby" over GBS taking a job in Argentina? If that's not what you meant, then maybe you need to take a writing class while I'm in reading class.

The inference had EVERYTHING to do with tRR's perception and ZERO to do with GBS. That's what I meant, and that's what I wrote. Apparently though, you of the great moderator clan wanted to take that as a reason that GBS would suck as a manager.

Let me try it this way so that it's a little more clear for you:

tRR gets a chubby because HE thinks he can play top flight soccer and that GBS will give him that chance.

Oh, and let me say this too before you start flaming me for that too.... It's an inference, and not a statement of fact. I have no knowledge, nor have I ever had any knowledge of tRR's desires to get chubbies due to playing prospects as people that he admires and considers good friends get managerial jobs.

Thats good news for GBS. Its sets up nicely his next move back into the USA once he gets some experience. As for Rogers, he has always done well with decent coaches hwoever Leeds has him for another year with an option I believe so a move to Argentina is not happening. Maybe instead a return to the Crew some day when it finally gets some decent coaching.

No. I'm not sure if you're referencing John Cougar, John Mellencamp, or their offspring, John Cougar Mellencamp.
