Are there any players that still fall for Ronaldo's repetitive dummies?
Anyway, I hope his team gets eliminated just to see his face as they go out of the competition.

It's incredible that despite losing 2 games the Netherlands can still qualify, while Ireland and Sweden are going home.

    Talk about lucky

This time, I think Holland really has a chance of beating us. That's why we really need Germany to win against Denmark.

Why would anyone want a team to lose because of one particular player? I don't like Ronaldo either but being Portuguese I do hope he does well in the tournament and says a big f*ck you to all his haters by scoring a few goals. :D

First of all he can't score. He just can't ^^. Secondly it wouldn't be a big f*** you all if he scores maybe 1 or 2 times....that is still nothing. He had so many chances and looked mostly average.
I'm still interested in the match tonight. Netherlands can win but with a 2 goals lead?

Ronaldo can't score? 63 goals for Real Madrid says that he can! Yeah I know he hasn't been able to score yet for Portugal, but look at Torres, he suddenly managed to score 2 even though people kept saying he wouldn't. Who's to say Ronaldo won't score? Maybe all he needs is to score one to give him some confidence, but to say that he can't score is just silly. He missed a few opportunities in ONE game, big deal! And I couldn't care less if he only scores 1 or 2 as long it helps Portugal go through that's all it matters.

I predict a very tough match for Portugal, the Dutch will be gunning from minute 1.

Dude, don't feed the trolls. Portugal won't win any popularity contests in football, so embrace the dark side. Let the bandwagon jumpers support someone else.

I know what the dutch are capable of and am 10000000000% sure they will want to win this.
I'm super nervous, I think we can win but would NEVER underestimate the dutch even though they lost their 2 games.

If both matches end 1-1, which team will take second place?

Good question, I have no idea. Will it be Portugal? They would have same points as Denmark and same GD but we won our game against them. I don't know.

In that case, Portugal goes through. My concern for today's match is that Holland plays a different style of football than our previous adversaries. I think our midfield will be exposed to their capacity of playing through the middle with short passes.

Netherlands certainly have most to prove in the group, not to be rubberstamped a total failure

We will not really change our tactics. Our coach is conservative and gets a lot of criticism, he tries to keep his formation, but will change some things because of all the pressure from the country. Criticism included:
    1. play Huntelaar and vPersie both: he will probably do this
    2. put a left-footer on the left wing and a right-footer on the right (so Robben left flank): will probably not.
    3. play vdVaart instead of vBommel: he might do this, but could also change vdVaart for de Jong, because vBommel is his son-in-law.
    4. change the central defenders (and maybe backs): will probably not do this.

So we might get this (as I posted in another topic)
    ------------Stekelenburg
    vdWiel--Mathijsen--Heitinga--Willems
    ----------vdVaart-----De Jong---------
    Robben---------vPersie-------Sneijder
    ---------------Huntelaar----------------

I personally hope that the coach will play Boulahrouz instead of Heitinga, and Heitinga left or right back, but that's a 5% chance or so that he will do that.

Good Lord. This is already a high-risk game. Playing Boulahrouz would be like adding flame to a powder keg... We emphatically do NOT like what Boulahrouz did to Ronaldo last time... Let's hope everybody plays fair and cool today - on both sides. Who's the ref? Is he up to the task? It's going to be crazy. Anyway, t minus 3 hours! good luck to all teams! Forca Portugal!!

getting ready for another day of football thrills here... whoever comes out of this group plays Czech Rep or Greece, so they'll have a good chance of making the semis... I would like to see a Greece vs. Portgual replay in the quarters but don't think it'll happen. I think Portugal will progress today, but it won't be easy. An early goal from Holland would make things very interesting...

Really? You don't leave Rafa alone from that position. NEVER. Who was supposed to mark him? Don't they know goals from that spot are his specialty?
