Good post. I see your point. Though I think a physical gameplan will deal with the dangers Korea pose by having large amounts of possession. That's what I would go with. Who knows what the coaches are thinking right now.

Korea are probably more likely to score from a set piece than Qatar. Fabio is a good set piece taker and all, but the best set piece taker in the squad, Al Haidos, rarely sees a game. I don't think they will score a goal from a set piece tbh. If they do score a goal, I think it'll be from Yusef Ahmed. To be honest, the last time Fabio took a set piece he assisted a goal, so I could be wrong on this lol, it just doesn't seem likely.

I don't think Qatar has faced a side like South Korea since losing 2-3 to Japan back in January 2011. If their performance in that match match, and their olympic team's performance are any indicators on how they will deal with a technical side, the signs are encouraging. I don't want to jinx it though haha.

our "world class fitness" is overrated. we are the same as any normal team. the key to a Korea win will be scoring first. if we score first i predict we will win. if Qatar scores first then i predict a draw.

while Qatar looked alright last game lets not forget they only won cause Lebanon gift wrapped the goal. if Korea doesnt commit any silly fouls for penalties and bad passes like Lebanon i dont see Qatar even getting a draw.

while its alright to look at the last round and point out that we lost to Lebanon it should also be noted that only 5 players from that squad will play tomorrow.

i predict Qatar to dictate play for about the first 20min but from then on Korea will start to dominate more and more.

Al Sadd's stadium will be air conditioned, but what does that mean?

The outside temp in the afternoon will be 42 degrees! Does anybody have an actual figure of what it will be in the stadium?

    Go Sweden in Euro! :D
Although today is gonna be quite boring, its the group with the east european teams and Greece that plays.

Qatar-South Korea will be more exciting imo, and I might watch Oman-Australia too. We're spoiled with too much football :p

Yeah the qualifiers are gonna be more exciting. The only thing getting me excited about the Euros is all the controversy surrounding it.

Let me continue to speak of Park Chu-young, especially for teammellieIRANfan. ;)

The Korean public in general is standing against Park Chu-young to play for both WCQ and Olympics. Had he held press conference to explain how it had happened as his boss Choi Kang-hee asked him to do, he wouldn't get such criticism from the public like this. We'd like to know what he is thinking and whether he is eager to play for his country.

Yes. He is our best prospect at striker. We do not have any viable alternatives. Ji Dong-won is not in shape as witnessed in the Spain friendly due to lack of sufficient PT at Sunderland. Lee Dong-gook is still in good form but not sure as to whether he can continue it. He is now 33-year-old. He will be 35 in 2014. Very difficult.

Until the controversy gets settled down or we find the best alternative at striker, Korea will have tough time to deal with such a headache.

I think the stadium is supposed to be maintained at a constant 20 degrees celsius. Or something along those lines.

Maybe you're right. But Qatar still dominated play for the most part. Replays after the game also show that they had a relatively clear penalty on Yusef Ahmed turned down.

    LOL
I spit out my drink laughing. He looks like a frightened little boy! :D haha I'm sure whoever did that meant to to look it comforting and welcoming, but actually just ended up making it look creepy as hell :ROFLMAO: I can't wait to see LJS play today.

As for the prediction for the Korea vs. Qatar, I'd call 1-0 or 2-1 Korea. Of course, the game won't be exciting as some of you folks might expect to see. Due to limited time to train together, we will not be still sharp with lots of changes. But Qatar didn't look good against Lebanon. I don't think they will pose much threat to us. And I don't see us to saw them off either.

"The heat in the stadium is overwhelming it's almost indescribable," he said. "There's air-conditioners but Qatar won't turn it on. They won't give up their advantage. We still have to do our best and try to drink water as often as possible." - coach of KNT
So the aircon will not be turn on?
