I am a REAL soccer fan and call BS as attending a graduation a 'lame excuse'. If my kid had graduation the same night, I would attend the graduation. Graduation from high school is a once in a lifetime event. There will be other US National Team games in my lifetime.
but REAL soccer fans don't care about such things! DIDN'T YOU BOTHER TO READ HIS POST!? Every time this guy pops up I want to punch a kitten.
I meant PRO minor-league. As in NASL or USL Pro, not the kiddie leagues. And I'll stay out of today's drama. A national-team thread isn't the best place for club team politics.
The National team will have a free public training session on thursday night at 7:00pm. Get out there and support our boys! http://www2.tbo.com/sports/sports/2...eam-to-play-thursday-at-raymond-ja-ar-412102/ http://www.ussoccer.com/News/Mens-N...ssion-on-June-7-at-Raymond-James-Stadium.aspx
Things are on the up and up! Now just keep an eye on the weather. Gonna be nasty the next couple of days, but hopefully it'll clear up a bit for Friday night.
My suggestion: pray. Weather Channel and Weather Underground say 50% chance, and AccuWeather says 60% chance (but only estimates 0.2"). Then again, it rained when I came down for my first national team match in 2010.
I have had pasta three nights in a row. Am wearing a colander. Everything I can do to ensure the FSM keeps rain away. Anyone going tonight to the open practice?
U.S. Soccer Federation announced today that over 20K tickets have been sold so far for Tomorrow's WCQ at Ray Jay Stadium! Awesome stuff!
Over 20K sold so far. Tomorrow is going to be a blast, with two European Cup matches and our WCQ! USA USA USA! I'm in soccer heaven! http://twitter.com/#!/ussoccer
Sales are finally ramping up. I can't help but wonder why they waited so long, though. Sales were fast from the start for the Scotland match. Current gametime predictions (updated 6/8 7:30am): Weather Channel says 79°, 70% chance of rain. Weather Underground says 81°, 70% chance of rain. AccuWeather says 77° and partly cloudy, placing a break in the rain right at what would be the window to get the game in. Interesting.
Are there post-game things to do tonight? Because last year at the Gold Cup it took me over an hour just to get out of the parking lot (it was a disaster), and I don't feel like sitting in my car that long again.
Just a hair shy of 24k for this one when all was said and done. Very rainy Friday night vs a very non compelling opponent, Tampa Bay should be proud. Haters can take a walk. Not to mention it was nearly all USA support. That wouldn't quite be the case if we had played a larger nation, but still nice to see. As always. Give us a Saturday night gig in the HEX vs Honduras or Jamaica and let's see how we do
Doubt the bolded scenario happens but Tampa did do very well for itself at USMNT game...again. Refreshing to see.
I doubt it as well, but I'd imagine we'll be considered for a HEX game in future cycles. Although I'd be just as happy with another semi final round game, especially if its against a bigger team.
