Any news on Castillo? The way he came off made me concerned about his availability for next weekend. (Which is a shame, because while he was on the pitch, his ball control and spacing seemed miles better than last year.) [Mods - feel free to do anything you want with the title . . . you might just want to make this thread Castillo-specific. I know a lot of other team boards have one clearinghouse thread for injury updates, though.]
Seems like a good idea, if people start to use it I could imagine we start funneling posts into it. We'll see how it goes. So, anybody know if Ferreira is going to be closer to the 2 or 4 week side of "2-4 weeks"?
Surprised that this thread isn't longer. Our injuries are not only plentiful, they are also hushed secrets. Any info on these guys? Just to surmise: DF10: 4-6 weeks, broken foot rehabing in LA ? Andrew Wideman: hernia surgery ? Bobby Warshaw: broken foot? Ricardo Villar: some kind of nebulous foot injury? Ugo Ihemelu: concussion issues for the 3rd or 4th time? Carlos Rodriguez: 3-4 weeks, broken elbow? Brek Shea: turf toe, ongoing but can play? Kevin Hartman: tack issues, but can play? Andrew Jacobson: ankle injury, but can play? Luna, Top, Leyva: splinters in the SS
This hack league destroys at least one of our starters every game. DF10 gets killed in a game and it doesn't even get a call. It's time for Eye for an Eye. Leg for an Leg. Knee for a Knee.
I don't believe Warshaw is out for the year. The procedure they used on him allowed a replacement and for him to be able to come back and play after say six weeks (if able)
Thanks for the updates Pegas and Chaz. Hasn't it been long enough to get Villar back? We really are missing some technical quality in the final third. Villar gives us that Andreas Pirlo magic that has been lacking.
Ah ok. I had heard that Warshaw was out 12-16 weeks before he be out of rehab and able to play again. That would put him back in September/October - maybe.
2-3 months ago they said DF would be out "2-3 months". I haven't heard a word since. I keep on hoping against hope he'll miraculously return soon and lead the team on a 2nd half comeback. Anybody heard anything? I've always been accused of being a bit of a dreamer.
You and SH both. I agree, I feel like it's been the months time span that they originally said and the last I heard he was dreaming of coming back @ Houston but it was more realistic to expect him back in July. Even if the latter is true, it would be good but where is the word?
I don't think DF10 returns but if he does he'll be a shadow of his former self. Sad way to end a career. The med team needs to focus on getting players fit for the long term and the hyper Colombian knobhead needs to plan on replacing 2-3 players that will be forced to retire this season (DF10, Ugo and Hernandez).
Or Villar. Nice to hear updates on John and Loyd, though. I hope Hyndman's comments on them are not too rose-tinted.
So, does this mean that DF10 and Villar are done? To not be reported seems to be very telling. Makes me even more curious to know exactly what injury Villar sustained. Any chance Shalrie actually fractured Villar's ankle, and the league wanted to hush it up?
The fact that DF10 has been out over a year and then went to California for rehab, plus the accumulation of and recovery time for what seems to be relatively common sports injuries for other players, has started raising questions about the medical staff for me. Trainers can't do much with concussions or breaks, I understand. But hernias that go unoticed, sprains and strains that last for months, and turf toe that doesn't seem to improve when a player is suspended for 3 games are injuries that trainers and team doctors should have a handle on. Does Villar, Brek and Castillo need to leave Frisco for rehab too?
I can't speak for all the other stuff, but when I heard that Shea had "turf toe" I cringed. I've seen that injury keep players out or at less than 100% for a full season or longer.
