I think fining the refs for making bad calls is a good thing and if they consistently blow calls there should be an option to fire them.

I just rechecked the Copa Mexico groups...Pumas Morelos and Pumas are both in it. WTF?!

could we seriously have a Pumas Morelos/Pumas Copa Mexico final?

Money votes, I agree with you, but most people do not, we are a minority, the fans love the playoff.

Also I do not think is a long tournament, as far as I know the 2 short tournaments stay (more money from 2 playoffs for the TV networks).

WTF? Then whats the point of redoing this thing? The reason to have a Copa is to get some knockout action. If we keep the current format its a huge fail.

I thought the Copa was to help out the lower divisions...you know, like the EPL.

It is to give those guys a shot, bit also provides some tourney style play with elimination in a long format league. Plus our primera A is very weak, so the first seasons of that will be rough, but in the end could help out. It has been a long time since we have seen teams like Toros Neza and Leon play important matches.

I'm still hoping the season will be long table format decided by points. If its not I am seriously going to lose interest in our league.

Two liga tournaments, two copa tournaments. No monetary prizes for copa, or qualification to concachafa/libertadores/sudamericana. (this is something that the USSF does which I like, the winner of the US Open Cup goes to concachampions)

Given the opportunity they had to do something worthwhile, they screwed up royally.

The other thing I like is that they have a "vision" which includes attendance above(?) 50% in the stadiums, and an average weekly tv rating above 8 by 2015. It's not clear to me how the changes will make this happen, or whether Decio loses his job if it doesn't happen.

Here is another link to Decio's comments, for those interested-

The teams qualified to international tournaments don't participate in the copa.

Orale, por fin hacen un diseno chingon.

Muchos le seguiremos diciendo 'la liga mexicana' o 'la primera division (mexicana)' but honestly the name 'La Liga MX (eme-equis)' sounds elegant to me, pense que la iban a cajetear...now we have to wait an see what sponsor ends up bidding out the rest to make it sound cheap. i.e. 'La Liga Maseca MX'; 'La Liga Roshfrans MX'. What happened to the word 'premier' as being part of the new name for the league? Better to leave it out, no tenemos nada de 'premier' la verdad.

I think Voit is a bit underrated, their designs are decent and their balls have good quality in my opinion, still their best design was Tribu thought:

They also clarified the Libertadores comment. There is no intention of us living Libertadores. They claim it was the media that made the story up. They did however state, Mexico deserves to be treated like a full member of the cup and not like and invitee. I dont know what that means because the only thing we don't get is to go to the Club World Cup and we have to play the second leg away if we make the final.

    no they didnt..

Decio said they were looking into the possibility of withdrawing from Libertadores due to calendar problems that occur in the final stages of the Libertadores with the Liguilla..

Not according to this (thanks to el-choul for the link) http://www.femexfut.org.mx/portalv2/aspx/WEB_DetalleNoticia.aspx?pnIDNtca=39056:

While I like some of the changes they made I think they messed up with the Copa Tournament.

Why do they have 7 groups when it's a Cup Tournament? just have the whole tournament played out knockout table and give the winner the ticket to Copa Libertadores.

Yes they did...Decio, Irarragorri and Monterrey's president were on some fox sports show in the morning and all three of them said the same thing. They don't have plans in living Libertadores, but they do what better treatment.

Yeah, they said they want to stay in Libertadores. However, they said nothing about working or adjusting the schedule for teams who play in it.
