I found it to be just a reskin of series I

My narrative criticism is it might have been better to play out the Barksdale set in series II rather than bring it back half heartedly later

I just enjoyed learning more about how that industry works, and found the logistics of the docks fascinating. Outside of the great storylines I love The Wire just for the fact that we get to peer into worlds I previously knew little to nothing about.

I won't look at this thread for another couple of months then, I don't wanna read anything!

Heard something on NPR today about Bunk opening a series of grocery stores in New Orleans, his home town.

In case anyone needs help feeling old tonight, the first episode of The Wire aired 10 years ago yesterday.

Almost posted about this book in this thread originally, but I was too lazy to dig it up. But since Le Chubby Chapeau bumped this:

    http://www.escapistmagazine.com/new...Wire-HD-Remaster-Rebroadcast-September-4-2014

"The Wire was originally shown in a 4:3 format, as was the norm before HD programming, and hardware became ubiquitous. Despite the tube TV-friendly showing, the Baltimore drama was shot on Panavision Super 35 cameras, which means the sides of the shots were lopped off for standard def TV. The remasters would bring chopped shots back to their original glory."

EDIT (via IGN): UPDATE: Tweaked the story ever so slightly. HBO *is* considering a remastering of The Wire, but at this point the the rollout plan is unknown. Going by what USA Today is reporting, I've removed the "Sept. 4th" promo video completely.
