Great steal from Nguyen, bomb of a shot from McCarthy, and save from Johnson. WHoever turned this game off (Knave?), THANK YOU.
Apparently the sideline reporter doesn't know that "next 5 minutes" after a goal is pretty standard in the world of soccer from U10 to the World Cup.
By the standards of US, and US-raised players, particularly those who went thru the college ranks, a midfield of Feilhaber, Nguyen, Rowe and Joseph is pretty skilled and technical.
I swear every version of that song is on youtube except video from the actual movie. (Not that I've spent every minute since you posted looking at the videos...)
Kelyn Rowe is something to be reckoned with. Shalrie Joseph is the guy who used to be the best holding mid in the league. I hope Ossie Alonso can carry that title as well as he did, but he has some work to do yet. But Shalrie is past it.
Good win for the Revs. They are showing themselves worthy of playoff contention status. Their fans deserve better than that, but, hey, maybe management is starting to do something right. Next they will sign a Portuguese star to help drum up support for a stadium in Sumner. Pigs flying out of my ass is more probable, but less desired.
And many people say that type of passing we saw by the revs in the 2nd half isn't possible on a turf field. Look at the pass by Rowe to feed Feilhaber as the prime example.
I think you mean "Feihaber to feed Rowe," brother. Good point. I wonder (not "wander") who gives a damn, any more. I think it is now a question of good turf (the new Seattle turf) vs. lousy turf (Stade Olympique, or however you spell that in French).
No, I do actually mean Rowe's assist Rowe actually had to lead Feilhaber into space. If Rowe doesn't weight the pass properly it goes out of bounds. It is the type of pass the turf haters say is impossible on turf because the ball rolls too fast and doesn't slow up. Playing a ball on the ground into space behind the defense for a player to run on to.
You mean like so many passes have been played to Zakuani in the past and, God willing, will be again. More relevant to Seattle in the hopeful future than what happened tonight on this MLS thread.. Lets not detract from the great performances of New England players. one or two of whom have figured in the USMNT picture and/or may be in the mix in the future, with trying to score parochial points about the virtues and vices of plastic pitches.
