I wouldn't care... don't think it matters that much if the players are quality.

Yes he may be. However as far as he is concerned he has stated he wants to stay one more season with Ajax (playing time - development) - which I think is very wise

Arsenal's strategy to buy young players and develop them is fine. But these are times when they need proven quality as well or they may

    a) lose important players

    b) end up with a season which wont deliver CL (which after years of success would be quite frankly a punch in the face and a drop in the whole)
Because if lets say Arsenal finishes next season 5th+ and than suddenly see that they need to bring quality. That quality will just like suddenly be hard to find as such players usually come to clubs where CL is played the very next season.

So just like Liverpool, Arsenal would not be in a good position if they let themselves fall out of CL places.
(*note look at Liverpool looking for a coach to lead them and look how great names are quickly discarded an example Klopp. Why would Klopp leave Dortmund who are 2 times champions of Germany and play CL and will probably play it next year as well for Liverpool who does not play CL and will have a hard time gaining the spot)

So my point is: Once you get into that "hole" it is hard to get out. Don't fall in it

I enjoy it when Barcelona fans come in here and tell us how our club should be run

What we need more than anything is for teams like Barcelona to stop cheating so we can offer competitive wages and trasnfers fees

Unfortunately Barcelona are, by their nature, cheaters so that will not happen

Of course the other Spanish teams that have been decimated by the behavior of Madrid and Barcelona are the real victims here

I am not telling you anything. I just gave my opinion on the matter and that is that.

holy jeez, who gives a crap if dude is a barca fan? he's here participating in the discussion in a civil manner. i mean, do you have anything to dispute his opinion? besides, y'know, the completely unrelated rant?
    welcome, dude.

yeah, it gets to be a slippery slope. especially for teams without sugar daddies to fix the problems.

As much as I'd love for us to sign Kagawa, the 17 million to sign him would be a club record for us. Think about that for a second.

Yeah, but put in a bid if for no other reason than to jack up the price on United, which can only help in the long run.

Yeah, so? Thats a pretty good price for a player of his quality these days. That it would be a club record says more about AFC than it does about Kagawa's valuation.

He's a player who's too expensive for us, while the deal is being headlined in todays Guardian as a sign of United's new "austerity".

Sure it does. But it suggests that we need to recalibrate our expectations of signings. I think Kagawa would be a great signing for us, both from a football and a business point of view - dude can play left, right or center, can dribble, has pace, can pass well, and is Japan's best player to boot.

Thats probably only because it fits the story the Guardian want to push. Had Hazard agreed to join Manu, they'd be running the one about ManU going head to head with their nouveau riche neighbours. £17 mill is a lot of money for a player his age.

Another summer where the top talent goes to the other teams. <sigh> Oh well.

I guess the next logical move would be M'Villa signing with City because why not?

It's going to be a long season.

Another summer in which people panic over losing players we were never going to get in the first place.

Haha - funny 'cus it's true. But really, since the club is always so tight-lipped over transfers, what are we to do?

    But that's the problem.

For years we were a team dependent on Cesc's play. If he was injured or not playing well the team suffered. He leaves and is replaced with Arteta and we are in the exact same situation. If he is injured or not playing well our entire team sputters. Look at our record with him playing and not playing.

So clearly that is a position of weakness for us. And what have we done to correct it? Nothing. Apparently we will cross our fingers and hope that Jack Wilshire will be able to bounce back from a season long injury and not only be in the same form, actually better. That isn't realistic.

I'm not upset that we didn't get Hazard or Kagawa or anyone. I WILL be upset if we go into the season facing the prospect of being one injury away of forcing Song to play as an AM again.

Giroud has a 13 million release clause. Any chance we hit that? I like Victor Moses a lot. Right age, great work-rate, strong like a bull, right price. But the left side of the field is too crowded already.

The Euros start next Friday. Once they begin I suspect that transfers will grind to a halt until the tournament is over. Wenger has said that he wanted to get his important stuff done early to avoid what happened last year.

Waiting until late July or August for bargains is fine for squad players, not difference makers.

For what it's worth, I thought Dyer from Swansea was really good, too. Wouldn't be surprised if Rodgers tries to bring him to Liverpool - he'd be a nice replacement for Kuyt.
