I don't think this is a bad thing, I think China's best XI could be formed from players at the World Cup qualifiers, so long as Li Weifeng, Liu Jianye and Zhao Peng are left out of the main team it should be ok... right?

liu jianye and zhao peng will remain on the national line-up unless the CSL produces better and proven talents that are younger than them.

yes, i understand the national team don't want to rely on young players on the spanish match to avoid any big margin lost (china last played a spanish team in 2003, barcelona, and lost a whopping 6-0). but i think there are established players in the CSL (that are not necessary young) that deserve a call up for the national team.

Zhang Linpeng and Wu Xi have been far more impressive for the NT than those two IMO

And obviously you got Du Wei who seems to be a lot more reassuring to have at the back than Zhao Peng, but it appears he's gone for good...

Nah it was 3-0 in 2005, I watched that match live, Sergio Ramos made his international debut that day.

It was also the only time that Spain and China have ever faced each other at senior level

does anyone have the list of 35 players that camacho included for the spain friendly?
the chinese news said they seen it (and they didn't even bother to post it lol)
they said qin sheng (evergrande), piao cheng (the beijing dude who scored a spectacular goal on ACL), zhang li (a DMF who used to be a sub for henan construction), and geng xiaofeng (GK for Shandong Luneng).

zheng zhi is the oldest in the squad, and li weifeng is excluded.

    Valencia to play China.

Valencia announced that through Camacho, they have agreed on several arrangements.
    1) Several young players (around 10) will be training in Valencia.
    2) Somewhere in June/July, Valencia will play a friendly against the China National Team.

I'm also on the lookout, from the sounds of it, its going to have some dramatic changes, there's talk about 3 or 4 Guoan players (including Wang Xiaolong and Yu Yang) being in the roster.

Lol I doubt it even matters. Like the England squad, people know the team before the manager does....its gonna be the same players chosen. Even though we are branching into youth players, come any big tournaments and no China manager has the balls to take risks with youth.

i will copy and paste from your link to here:
    Notable missing players:
    Yu Hai (i dunno why)
Deng Zhuoxiang (injured and you won't see him again for a long time)
Huang Bowen (bitchslapped the singaporean player and banned for whole 2012)
Rong Hao (injured and you won't see him again for a long time, but should be here before Deng)
    Yang Zhi (still injured)
Piao Cheng (he is on fire for guoan, but don't know why he is not included)
Yuan Weiwei (the dude with a feminine name isn't included)
Yu Hanchao (injured like no tomorrow)
Yang Xu (don't know why he is not here)

    Notes:
Zhang Yuan is one of the few players that played for China Olympics. He is known for his blazing speed and ability to play as defender, midfielder, and attacker.

    UNCONFIRMED NEWS:
because of Guangzhou Evergrande's ACL match with FC Tokyo, CFA agreed that Evergrande players to NOT PARTICIPATE in the Spain friendly.

if this news is true, say hello to Bigsoccer China's favourite Zhao Peng and Liu Jianye as the defenders,
AND EXPECT A GOOD ASS MULLING :(

I'd rather any Chinese team wins any football tournament. Since I have no affiliations or support of any CSL teams, go all!

true dat i prefer ACL victory than a friendly match.
just a fact: last time spain played china, spain won 3-0. i forgot the year.
cfb, a spanish poster here, said it was ramos' debut.

now looking at today's spain, i predict a heavy lost for china.
maybe 4-0 or up. it's ok to lose, but i hope more young potential players will have a chance to shine at this match, because this would be the opportunity for european scouts to take a look at our players.

And I predict we're playing a B team Spain squad...the ones who are on the fringe of making it into Spain's olympic team or something...or in case one of their Euro squad players drop out.
