Roma is also apprently interested in Witsel, James Rodriguez, Xandao, and Rolando. Guess they might possibly recruit from the big 3 in Portugal lol.

Roderick on his way back to Benfica.

Apparently Hugo Vieira stated he wanted first team play to be part of his contract and wouldn't sign unless he was promised that, thats why he didn't sign with Sporting and choose Benfica. I find it hard to believe that he'll get 1st team action right away with all the strikers we have, but the news is saying JJ is going to work with him this summer to make sure that happens? Definitely glad to see a young Portuguese potential talent at the team though. He has a 20 million euro buyout clause now.

Rui Costa relies strongly on Caballero, 17 year old Paraguaian striker, and is looking to finish the deal soon. I've been hearing a lot about this kid, but he better be for the "B" team. We have too many strikers and more coming in.

Vasco da Gama offers Benfica 3 million for Eder Luis, but Benfica wants more.

LFV sat next to the ManUtd Sporting Ditector during the Champions League final. May be building a relationship with him and suggest that Gaitan is indeed going to United.

Also, Marcos Rojo, Spartak Moscow's LB, is JJ's preferred LB to reforce Benfica.

Next year is looking like another disaster in the waiting. They keep signing (or trying) to get all these players and then we basically have like 3 teams worth of players. JJ ends up playing the wrong guys and we are back to square one again. It's nice to have bench strength, but they keep pulling this crap year after year. It's obvious they just want to sign young prospects, play a few, loan out the rest, and try and turn a profit.

Hugo Viana had a good season, but he's 29. 10 million is a bit much. I would like the signing if he cost 5million, but Carlos Martins is suppose to be returning so I don't think having Hugo Viana and Martins is necessary. I say one or the other, especially if Aimar stays.

a revolution is happening in pt soccer gone are the days of the big three now Braga have emerged, teams like Beira Mar have a shit load of cash wait till they begin the spending which they will Guimaraes have an improving squad and our debt is getting smallerr. The Funchal clubs are getting so much better that they are making money on players like Kleber, Nene etc AAcedemca are in europe and thats how it starts 10 years this league will be on a monsterous level

im not saying a club will challenge for the top 2 besides the big three and Braga but 3rd place is now the goal of teams like Maritimo, Nacional, Guimaraes the best thing that happened was 16 teams amazing season i am looking foward to the market this year before Benfica can buy you gotta sell take the 3M that Eder Luis has been romoured for and Benfica why did you lot sell Diego Souza!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What's everyone's opinion about a possible Simao Sabrosa return, being 32 and all? I personally would never decline a Simao return, no matter what age. He's making 2.5 million anually at Besiktas and would obvisously have to accept a pay cut.

As much as I like the guy, no thanks unless he is will to take a major major paycut and be willing to be used coming off the bench, otherwise he is too expensive, too old and eating up playing time a young promising player desperately needs. I would rather have Manny Fernandes who wants out of Beskits.

The rumor is that negotiations have broken down since Twente wanted 15 million euros for Ola John and Benfica were only willing to offer 10. Smart decision by Benfica

As for Simao, unless if he comes for less than 5 million and takes a pay cut. No.

Not worth 15 million if that is what they want. Maybe offer 8 million plus a good young prospect but not 15 million cash. For them to all of a sudden take this stance is because another team has entered the picture. I wonder who.

Roma offer 20 million for Witsel. His clause is 40 million. With the 10+ teams interested, no way he's leaving for less than 30. Witsel is the real deal here. Overall complete midfielder. Box to box, Attacking, Defending, whole package with him.

Benfica is using Enzo Perez, who wants to stay in Argentina, to lure Funes Mori from River Plate to Benfica. Apparently River Plate wants him and he's a huge River Plate fan, soo it seems as it makes both clubs and player happy. This way Benfica isn't out 5.5million that they paid for Enzo. I say go for the swop.

Derlis Gonzales arrives July 1st at Benfica for pre-season. Here's another attacking player (winger) me, and most people forgot about. Most likely a going to be another loaned player, only 18 years old.
