If Di Matteo is not offered the job, it's difficult to imagine anyone who'd be willing to take it.

He only won the FA cup and the CL......he can't be held accountable for the EPL results - He did everything possible to win what he could....and he did it. Smart guy....heart of GOLD/100% CHELSEA. Give him the job.....he earned it.

You would have to think he has a great chance, but the comments from Buck a few weeks ago leave me a little concerned about whether or not he'll get the job.

You simply can't rely on cup competitions for glory, they are so unpredictable.

When Buck mentioned that RDM took over with Chelsea in 4th and only 3 points off Arsenal in 3rd, yet failed to qualify for the Champions League through league position, I thought right there and then that they had decided not to give it to him.

Perhaps, just maybe, after last night they may reconsider...but I think that after the euphoria of the win subsides, they'll resume looking for another manager.

    I do hope I'm wrong.

one has to wonder how much of the League form suffered as he rotated the squad with the focus being on the trophies which were more attainable

his League form needs to be closely examined but his impact on the club was immense

Indeed he has the argument that the club was not nearly good enough to push on all three fronts, the squad simply wasn't good enough and the much maligned (now legend) older players simply wouldn't have the gas to survive such a schedule.

He can always go back to losses to the likes of the baggies and the delusional tactics at home to the Arse as reasons as to why we were in 4th in the first place.

    Indeed, he has a case.

However, we're still in the position that the squad isn't good enough to win the title next season and if RDM is the manager that can make that happen.

I do hope he gets a chance as I think he will favour keeping some of the legends, and should be able to get it across to them that of they wish to stay, they can, but if they wish to play every week, they can't.

I'm still quite astonished by his faith in Kalou though!!!!

that's harsh i think. who else should he have played? kalou is way more tactically disciplined that both malouda and sturridge in most cases. he was playing him out of need really. can you blame him? he gives you better balance in the side.

Torres should have come on 15-20 mins earlier for Kalou. I still remember the extreme sadness, anger and rage I felt seeing Kalou still on the pitch when Bayern scored... and we werent doing anything offensively.

TBF CFC didn't do anything offensively until Muller was taken out. Right there that was a gaff by Heynckes. Once that happened & the introduction of Torres it was a much different match.

Bringing in Van Buyten was when it all started going pear-shaped for the Germans. Ten years of failure with the Belgian NT should have been a warning to Jupp. :D

I cast my vote to RDM, fwiw. The players really like him, he's young, and he has played and won at the highest level, he can comunicate with young players... Anyway, I'd like to see him stay. We'll see.

Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku criticises former manager Andre Villas-Boas , insisting he will "never forgive" his sacked boss. Lukaku, 19, tells Sport Wereld: "There is one person that I will never forgive for what he did to me - the previous coach. Right from the beginning, it was weird. I could not stand how he was treating me. In training, he put me on the right or left wing. I really learned nothing! I have told the club that too."

I think RDM should be our manager going forward. He's earned it, though his winning percentage in the league was slightly worse than AVB's. Still, he was operating as a rescue mission, trying to advance on three fronts with a thin, emotionally depleted squad. He gets 2 trophies. Amazing. As for his abilities in the transfer market - will any manager have a massive say in comings and goings? I'm not so sure. The club will do its best to inject the team with talent.

If RDM does leave, I think one of his most valuable, lasting contributions to the club was in introducing Ryan Bertrand to the world. We're good at left back for years to come. Well done, there.

He's still a kid and I think his language is a little stronger than intended. Villas-Boas didn't make him train naked and then smash out cigarettes on his face, did he? He played him out of position in training. Whenever he got on the field, I think he was always a central striker. Comical.

He was thrown on the wing a few times as a substitute and it didn't work.

He played so little, it was hard to recall. But yeah, of course it didn't; he's not a winger! Still, I think his phrasing is a bit over the top.

    Also, we're champions of Europe.

I'll be gutted if he doesn't get it. He deserves a full season at the helm before we judge his league pedigree. We play with a fire that I haven't seen since the Special One. Please give him the job.

Regarding Bertrand. He is our future left back no doubt about that. Massive stones for his performance on the biggest club stage. I thought he could have folded like a paper tiger, but he stayed composed. Well done Ryan.

Jose just signed an extension with Madrid until 2016. So the rumors I've seen are:

    1. RDM for 1-year
    2. Pep (no)
    3. Blanc (no)
    4. Harry (no)
    5. Bob Bradley (no)

That last one is made up. I meant to say Bruce Arena (still no).
