So your telling me that you would take less money? Get off your high horse... everyone wants to get paid thats A-Rod esq money. I suppose your work asks to give you less of a bonus to be loyal or some crap like that?

Agreed. I just want us to bring someone in quick. If RVP wants to leave to $hitty then sell him for 55 million quids. Buy a top striker and also get Del Piero for cheap. We can do a lot with the money from the sell from RVP. No player is bigger than the club. Thanks for every RVP but if your going to Man $hitty then ur a cvnt!

We know Man $hitty have a lot of money, lets cash in and hope RVP return to his injure ways.

He should be a free agent by June, and he has expressed his intention of playing in the EPL. I say bring him in for experience. He has won trophies so it will help our lads learning from him.

An interesting notion, but I can't bring myself to imagine that it's likely

Why not sign Pippo Inzaghi as well?

I'm not saying buy Del Piero as a replacement for RVP but he can benefit us with a another proper replacement. ATM, he should be cheap and if we offer him a 1 year deal it will help us since he has experience at winning at the top level. As of now, we don't have anybody who has won a major trophy. Either ways, signing Del Piero on a short-term contract will not hurt us; especially with the money from the sell of RVP.

I just wish we would have just signed Henry when his contract ran out at Barca.

Although his wages at New York are probably higher than we were willing to pay for the role he would have had.

gunner7 i don't mean to be a pedant but chamakh and gervs are both ligue 1 winners, andre santos has won confederations cup, arshavin has won europa league (uefa cup) and super cup. we have winners in the squad, as for what it takes for us to push on and win a trophy i would say that it it would take some luck and for us to stay injury free.

They might be winners, but Im not sure they have the winners mentality that will help drive on other players.

...Actually, I am sure. Chamakh and Gervinho dont have it, and Arshavin didnt have it at Arsenal.

Del Piero is freakin' 37 and never has played outside of Italy. With exception of one or two players, Italian strikers do not seem to do well in the Premier League. That deal makes no sense whatsoever.

Spurs/Arsenal target Jan Vertonghen: "I like Premier League, but if Milan calls you, you can't say no to them".

SMH. Is this guy that desperate to find a club?

I guess Spurs can forget about signing Verthongen now. Won't be surprised if Adebayor, Modric and Bale are gone as well. Ekoto is chased by Juve. Hard times are coming at WHL.

He's been pretty straightforward about leaving. He's ready to make more money and play against better competition. No surprise really.

That was not the point. Yes, he has been straightforward about it, but after flirting with Arsenal, then claiming his love for the Spurs, now he throwing himself at AC Milan. If he is that good, he should just let his talent do the talking.

Yeah, agreed. I understand that Theo only 23, but he's becoming a one-trick pony to me. Negate his pace and he disappears. I'd rather cash in and get Hoilett.

I agree, not to mention Ryo could possibly get some playing time next season.

Quite frankly I don't know how much we will contend next year. It is going to take a lot, probably an amount which we will not see under Wenger. I guess it's pretty sad that I've come to actually understanding this (first time ever, really) but I suppose now I'll understand if we have a few signings for the future instead of splashing money elsewhere.

Although I would still love for a transfer window with more Podolski-like signings (don't necessarily have to be so expensive) that would allow us to contend for at least a FA Cup or something.
