Some b.s. that Europe is putting political pressure on Ukraine in relation with the Euro's. That's not cool at all

In fairness, Ukraine does not have oil, or available slave labor.

...and that's why it's open season on "human rights abuses."

The worst thing about Ukraine is that they are splitted between pro-EU (the new USSR) and pro-Putin(the old USSR) politics. Both directions actually sucks but they seem to be going nowhere right now which is even worse. I said "they seem to be going nowhere" but we all know who's in charge now.
I wonder how many generational replacements it will take to change the way how we are ruled (I mean post-Soviet countries). I got goose-bumps when my grandmother told me that she and her colleagues will vote for some old commie prick because "under the communism everybody had a job". Then we have 30-50 yrs old ppl who are manipulated to be "cool pro-European EU-lovers who are intolerate for those who are intolerate" but they seem to be cool with the fact that we're paying billions for the Greek welfare when here there are 500,000 (statistics of some Polish foundation) kids who go to school hungry everyday because their families are poor . Uh, end of the story. I'm getting mad everytime I think about it.

By "pro Putin" I actually meant "pro Russian". I just didn't want to involve Russians in dirty games of their government... again.
And of course I was talking about Ukrainian politicians, not average people.
In general I just wanted to say that I feel like we're still ruled by the same KGB bunch which just learned some PR.

Only Czechs really(?) got rid of communists after collapse of the Soviet Union. They got banned from politics etc. We wanted to do it as well, but it was voted down in Sejm (the lower house of the Polish parliament). Guess by who?
Militia officers who tortured people of opposition back in the 80', nowadays are getting pension 2x bigger than average person.

This is what I'm talking about.

They aren't being ruled by the KGB. They are being ruled by a Donetsk mafia. They aren't pro Russian or pro Putin. They are very much interested in Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty. The reason is simply because they have secured their wealth and wish to consolidate their positions of wealth and power.

The whole pro Russian line is lazy invention of the western media during the orange revolution. It's much easier to sell a story of good guys, (western orange guys who want EU freedom and happiness) and bad guys (old Soviet Russian grey bleak dark side). It's especially a good story when the bad guy is Russian. Seriously, check the American cinema from the last 30 years, get back to me on how many villains are foreign and where they are from. Russians sell well as villains.

Yeah, the same story with Polish movies. but! as you can see Poljaki run the "gangsta" business as well! Those guys steal these bags full of clothes/potatoes/whatever in the middle of nowhere using AK's. This is funny actually:ROFLMAO:

To be clear - I'm definitely not one of those "soup is too salty, because of Russian agents in my kitchen" kind of people. I'm just concluding - if Ukraine's still destabilized - who can make the best business out of it?
    option no. 1: Russian government.
option no. 2: like you said, some group of ultra-rich Ukrainians which pull the strings.

But sure - I agree 100% with this:

Just watch "The Way Home". It's an American movie about a Polish rebel fighter who was sent to a gulag in Siberia. Unbelievably pro-Polish and anti-Russian overtones. But I guess the plot of the movie would sort of entail that.

Of course there's also that monstrosity called 'Eastern Promises'. The biggest load of fecal matter I've ever seen on screen.

At least it's a sign that people are standing up for their rights. These dickheads wouldn't need this law otherwise.

Yes god forbid another potential arab democracy. That damn NATO keeps trying to get these authoritarian governments out, it angers Russia so much. After al-Assad it could be Ahmadinejad and after russians see those two go down we might not be far away from Putin going down in Russia. Vlad isn't gonna let these dominos start falling, he cares for his well-being too much.
