Only 10,000 tickets left for the game versus the LA Galaxy
    [IMG]
MONTREAL – The Montreal Impact announced on Sunday that only 10,000 tickets are left for the game versus the reining MLS Cup Champion LA Galaxy, this Saturday at 4pm ET, at Olympic Stadium.

Affordable seats for this game are still available, and tickets can be purchased via admission.com, by calling 1-855-790-1245 or at the Olympic Stadium ticket office.

“We are very pleased to see the buzz for this match against the Galaxy,” said Impact executive vice-president Richard Legendre. “Soccer fans and Impact supporters are anxious to see David Beckham, Robbie Keane and Landon Donovan. The atmosphere will be electric at Olympic Stadium as we Defend the North.”

Impact could break attendance mark once more vs. LA
    [IMG]
Theoretically, Saturday’s crowd could now reach 60,000, and the club is advising fans to arrive at the Olympic Stadium at least an hour in advance. Impact spokesmen would not confirm any further figures during training on Thursday, but kindly invited reporters to “do the math.”

The first-ever visit to Montreal by David Beckham’s Galaxy is certainly a factor in the impressive figures, and Montreal head coach Jesse Marsch is well-aware of that fact. He does feel, however, that Saturday’s game will be an opportunity to show Montreal supporters how much his team has grown.

“The last time we had 60,000 was like the coming-out party of our team,” Marsch told reporters. “Now I think our team’s moved along more, and it’s a more accurate representation of who we are. I expect us to be sharp and ready to go.”

    Hey, don’t I know you?

With first string goalkeeper Josh Saunders is dealing with personal matters, former Impact goalkeeper Bill Gaudette has been promoted to the starting role. He is winless in three starts (0-2-1), allowing four goals against on 11 shots.

He played in nine games for the Impact last season, going 2-5-2, before an ankle injury injury sidelined him for the remainder of the year. He has over 80 games experience in the NASL with the Puerto Rico Islanders, taking Goalkeeper of the Year honours in 2008, along with 17 games with the Columbus Crew in MLS from 2005-2007.

The Galaxy will also face an ex-keeper, as Donovan Ricketts should be playing in nets for Montreal on Saturday. Battle of the exes?

    Recap:
Beckham free kick snatches LA draw at Montreal
    [IMG]
MONTREAL – Cometh the hour, cometh the man.

And the fans – 60,860 in all, a record attendance for a professional soccer match in Montreal – came to see David Beckham ply his trade at the Stade Olympique. The Englishman’s curling free kick in the 62nd minute canceled out the Montreal Impact’s eighth-minute strike from captain Davy Arnaud as the LA Galaxy snatched a 1-1 draw on the road on Saturday.

Fair result at the end of the night a tale of two halfs chances for both sides it just a damn shame that once again another huge crowd goes home without a W.

Someone mentioned this before about the TFC game (Felipe didn't start it) .. the importance of Felipe. He faded in the 2nd half, and Impact was a different team. I think the whole team worked so hard first half they were burnt out in the 2nd. I'll say one thing about Corradi, I don't know how many steps he's lost, but he sure puts in the effort.

Something I've noticed, they don't get alot of corners .. they had 1 against KC (KC had 11), they had 2 against LA, and LA had 10.

LA was very lucky we were not up 3-0/4-0 at the half... When Corradi fell and blocked Arneaud's pass to Mapp, which would have most likely ended in a goal, I lost my sh*t.

In the second half i was not to happy with Marsch's subs, all of them ineffective. Bernier would have been the best player to sub on in this situation, for Warner, as he thrives in defensive situations where our backs are against the wall, ala KC game. I would have also gone with pure speed right at the top imediately, with Nyassi and Wenger for Corradi and Mapp, and would have changed the gameplan to longball to both as LA's CB's were both short and slow.

That said, I have been generally happy with Marsch's lineups and tactics, but there are times where he has lost the plot with his subs and have been generally out-coached in that regard...

Yeah fantastic game, I was there right behind the Ultras.. a lot of fun. I wasn't surprised when Beckham hit that great shot from the penalty kick... and once that happened our play sort of trickled down...

We played like crap in the second half but overall it was a fun match to watch. Was kinda cool having Beckham over in Montreal as well.
