As evidenced by the number of Arsenal players Ryan Shawcross has significantly injured.

Count me as one who is happy to get an EPL team here, knowing full well we would not get a Chelsea or Manchester side. I am a little bummed if Crouch won't be here - his wife could have sat with me. :D

Stoke are a good side. We are lucky that Premier League teams come to play here. They aren't a glamorous club, but neither are the Crew.

Peter Crouch is hilarious, and I doubt he'll make the Euro 2012 squad. We should see him in Columbus.

Went there, and found the foul stench of some Toronto inhabitants floating like pond scum on the surface of the "Stoke to play friendly in USA 24th july" thread. They have webbed feet, I hope you know that.

You don't think Crouch will make ther England squad? They have a dearth of proven forwards at the moment, and his international strike rate is pretty unbelievable. I'd be shocked if he was excluded.

I like Crouchy. He fell out of favor under Capello, and while his strike rate is impressive the opponents he scores against are usally not, so while he is good he's not as good as the numbers might suggest. David Nugent has a 1 goal per game strike rate for England...but he won't be on the plane. :D

Darren bent is injured, Jermain Defoe is off-form, Rooney is banned for the first two matches. Agbonlahor and Zamora have not had impressive seasons. Crouch has had a decent if unspectacular campagin. Grant Holt has become the hipster choice as a surprise inclusion. I suppose that of these choices Crouch is the best choice after Rooney.

Of the younger guys, Sturridge and Welbeck are available, but they have been a little inconsistent. Carroll has been a failure at Liverpool though his performances have suddenly looked good recently and there might be a case to include him on the basis of current form...an average player on a hot streak is better than a world-class player in a slump.

I think that Hodgson should go with the younger players...perhaps any two of Carroll, Welbeck and Sturridge plus Rooney. Many are arguing that you can't take both Crouch and Carroll because they are too similar, but I'm not sure that is true. God it would be funny to see them partnered up top.

Haven't hipsters given up on PBR by now? It's become so, like, mainstream.

He's a limited player - not very mobile or technically flashy. His positioning is good and he is strong, but in international matches I think he would be useless except during set pieces. I'd take Crouch or Carroll, for all his flaws, over Holt.

I was at the Anderson's last week and their beer section had Burger beer, next to the PBR. I have no idea who is brewing Burger nowdays but if they're reviving old brews, it's probably for Hipsters.

I was having a conversation with someone after the game about Burger beer. $1.50 for a six pack is what they paid many years ago.

Old regional brands are coming back these days, partially because the microbrew craze has made historic regional brands viable again - and partially because hipsters will buy anything that they think is obscure and looks 'old-school'

PBR is by far the best piss beer to get tanked on. Coors, Miller Lite, Bud Light, etc are pure shit.

Some brewery in Cincy. An Ohio classic so I was told. Never had a drop of it before

The old Burger brewery was sold to Stroh's about 30 years ago. Stroh's was later bought by Molson-Coors. Do Hudepohl and Schoenling still have their own breweries in Cincinnati? Hudepohl brews a premium beer called Christian Moerlein that now apparently has several varieties. Anderson's had those as well next to the Burger. I bought a 6 pack of Sam Adams hot shots but haven't tried them yet.

Until everyone starts drinking Schlitz or Mickey's this hipster fad can suck a fat cupcake.
and to get back to topic.

Stoke is terrible, but maybe Kenwanye Jones could stick around and be our DP?
