I think he has great potential and could walk into our starting XI but just like sneijder and Nsari last summer we don't have the wage structure to afford him.
Damn. No disrespect but I was hoping you'd never seen him play. Thought you mightn't have for some reason. I haven't and didn't want to be the only ignorant fool.
I would say his pace and natural ability( a bit of Ronaldo in him )...and fact he can play both wings plus as a amf.
Invincible You forgot the part where our low-ball offer gets rebuffed and we start complaining about "value in the market." Then we go out and spend almost 10M on an unknown quantity that the gaffer has never seen play.
I think Hazard is nailed on for City because of the wage demands really. Not much more we can do about it. But, how the ******** are they going to fit him in?
Did he not say something to the effect that things were better at City because now he does not have to play every game so he does not get tired? I thought I heard something like that.
Been linked with Baines. What are people's thoughts? Probably would address 2 areas of need, depth at LB and set piece threat.
I would not mind Baines too much. In all honesty, he cannot be much worse than Evra has been at times at LB the last couple seasons. His end product may make us more of a dual wing threat, but his crosses from deep will need to be attacked by someone better than the manner in which we've attacked crosses this season to make a real difference. But LB is not a major concern as compared to the missing craque and the hole in CM.
I agree CM is the no 1 priority, but it can't hurt to attempt to address other areas of the squad which could do with some improvement.
For the rumored £15mil? Nah. Its not an excessive fee, but too much to spend on a LB who really wont make a huge difference with us.
I would think that the club will have an idea of what type of players they want and how much money they can spend and budget accordingly. I doubt that SAF and the club will be like a teenager with their first monthly pay cheque where they go out and spend all their money in the first week of the month and are then broke for the remaining.
What's the point in signing all these players who cross the ball when, as Johno said, hardly anyone gets on the end of those crosses?
